Hmm interesting, just the concept of college car meets in general. My school was small in size and located in a dense urban area so cars were not exactly something many people had with them in general while at school. I had my car and street parked it in the city but I would never have done that with something nice.

Now just think what it would be like if you commuted every day in the Miata. Wouldn’t that just make your life so much better? I thoroughly enjoy commuting and doing every imaginable task in my life with a Miata. My only reason for wanting a second car some day is so that I can put in a roll bar and track my Miata

The problem is you could turn any regular NB2 Miata into a Carbon Copy of a Mazdaspeed Miata for less than the cost of an actual Mazdaspeed Miata. Additionally, you could spend about the same amount and end up with something even better. The cosmetic stuff is the only real reason to even lust after the Mazdaspeed

Hmm I was hoping this would go into more than just suspension mods that are crap. Cold air intakes, fart can exhausts, and giant wings come to mind.

Have you ever looked into Airbnb for lodging? These somewhat questionable sounding hotels for ~$50 sound expensive to me. I end up using Airbnb everywhere I go pretty much. There are certainly more expensive places on there too but I have paid $25-$35 a night for a small room with private bathroom and a kitchen to use

I think the biggest problem I have with trains is motion sickness actually. I took Amtrak from Los Angeles to San Diego and I couldn’t read or watch a movie because it made me feel queasy to do so. Whereas I can do both of those on a plane without issue. Maybe the tracks are smoother on that route or I am just overly

Isnt Amtrak usually about the same price as flying though? Sure it is slightly more convenient to take the train but in the end it probably takes about the same amount of time. It always seems silly to me how expensive trains are and how cheap flying is.

I think I want to just live somewhere without winter instead haha. San Diego is pretty nice all year round! But yeah, it makes sense what you are talking about, not everyone can or wants to go live in the desert. Thankfully that is where I want to go with my future anyways, so it will work conveniently to not have to

Nah that is quitter talk. I cant imagine a world where I keep my car in a garage, undriven for months at a time. I would much rather it rust out and be driven into the ground, just so that I can drive the car. I would gladly clean and then garage my car at the end of the day, but avoiding driving it altogether just

You are my hero, never putting the top up. I drive 90% of the time with the top down in my Miata but its that 10% of the time when it is torrential downpouring where I just cant do it. My car would not make a good bathtub lol.

Im guessing Toronto’s laws for moving the car to another space are pretty relaxed then? I am used to Hoboken, NJ where you have 4 hours of parking if you do not have a permit and that applies to the entire city limits. So if you moved your car to a few blocks away, it would still have to comply with the original four

Eh I hate the idea of blocking vents with my phone. CD slot mounts are the best! I have one in my Miata since the CD player doesn’t work anyways. It is the perfect spot for it.

I wouldn’t get an auto for myself no matter how good it was, especially in that car! The manual just made so much sense in there. But my girlfriend is not exactly in the manual-is-life crowd haha.

It was a 2012 I believe. Nice little car, my girlfriend certainly wants one (although I doubt she would do a manual like that car was). That is actually a very good size for a car though. Bit more interior space than my Miata lol. But I wouldn't want anything bigger than that.

In the Mini rental I had recently, I fully ignored the speedo in the middle of the car. The tach had a digital readout for speed so that was the only place that I looked. I only glanced at the gigantic speedo out of entertainment value occasionally.

Where do people normally live that work out of China Lake? It seems like the closest real town is Palmdale when looking at a map. And that is not particularly close lol.

I need to get another daily driver so that I can put a rollbar in my Miata and then get on with some rallycross and ice racing. It just seems like such a fun way to enjoy my car.

Well I am saying that the possibility for success is that since nobody else is researching rotaries, have any history in building them, or has any plans of using them; if they are successful in doing so, they would have a unique competitive advantage. Of course it is a risk because perhaps it is just a failed

I love seeing cars 3-wheeling it. This past weekend there was a Chevy Sonic sedan that was in a full 3 wheel turn through the slalom on the corner that I was working at autox. It was nuts to see it put a wheel in the air, then spin out, and take out a bunch of cones.

No risks, no rewards! It seems like Mazda wants to lay it all out and take the necessary risks for being truly successful. Sure they could fail miserably but they could also succeed spectacularly. With robust engineering and adequate market research, I imagine they could certainly pull it off. Either way, it will be
