Yeah, that’s never coming to America. Just no way. They’d sell 5.

Don’t you know? Russian missiles have advanced terror-seeking technology, long kept a secret from the Western Capitalist Pigs. And so do their bombs. And tank shells. And bullets.

New VW slogan ideas:

“Volkswagen TDI torque NOX your socks off!”
“VW TDI: Nitrous is standard. Lots of it.”
“The Golf TDI: now with guaranteed smog passage for life.”
“The VW SportWagen TDI with Fender Audio: loud enough to drown out the cries of Sierra Club members on your next outdoor adventure.”
“The Jetta TDI: because

Both are public safety concerns, and VW’s is inarguably on a far more massive scale. So yes, those numbers make more than sense to me.

Why would VW take a diesel to break his knees? I’ve heard those VW diesels are nox-belching smog machines, though I can’t recall the source of this information.

As soon as they figure just which ignition coil is causing that misfire.

I hesitate to comment on anything political on FA, but even as a left-leaning moderate, I agree completely that’s why he wasn’t in this article. Paul made some almost shockingly reasonable and “are we serious right now? are people actually suggesting we stop diplomacy?” kind of statements.

Erm, how is that remotely simpler?

A little flashy but, as you say, it’ll likely be toned down appropriately for production. I really doubt those brushed aluminum wheel arch trim pieces will make it in, for example.

And that makes it OK somehow?

Yeah, this is some pretty bad spin on VW’s part, and I’m surprised the mainstream auto press isn’t picking up on this. Seems like VW got most places to take this hook, line, and sinker.

I’ve always wondered what the deal was with Montana plates on supercars, but never really gave it much thought. Thanks for the enlightenment.

I love my AllClad stainless pans and do think they were worth the cost, but the copper core line pictured there is crazy expensive. A 4qt sauté copper core goes for $385! I just couldn’t understand that kind of investment.

Love the overall shape and a lot of trim / little bits. Looks really fresh.

I see a fair number of ML/GL Bluetecs in Los Angeles. They’re definitely starting to be a bit more in vogue with the “I want to drive a giant luxury SUV, but I also want to look like I care about polar bears” crowd. Fewer Bluetec GLKs, though, which to me suggests that your more average car buyer is still very wary of

Pretty much. Roll down the windows and that thing is hilarious. Stop lights become a little game of “how many pedestrians or Prius drivers can I mildly startle?”

It was pretty effing hard.

Here’s the thing: that isn’t fun in a 3-lap race. And I all but guarantee that’s why it works the way it does.

Although we understand the risks involved when we head out into the Forests to watch rally, it doesn’t make it any less tragic when spectator deaths occur.”

“This car is going to be AWESOME after I swap in this new engine and basically nothing else to help account for that!”
