It’s funny, so many of these tomes are better the second time through. They fly by and for some reason, I find myself able to just sit back and savor them more, and (occasionally) skim the bits that drag. Maybe more than occasionally. But only because I’m looking forward to the next part.

Oh man. The Part about the Crimes... I can still barely talk about it. 2666 is way up there on my list of favorite books, but those three hundred-odd pages (good lord) of blunt, businesslike atrocity are possibly the most affecting reading experience of my life.
