I’m going to assume this is sarcasm, because no one is possibly this ill informed.

1992 Toyota Previa All-Trac 5MT. I have to think low sales is what made this a one-year only deal. Same could probably said for Lexus ES300 5MT.

The same logic applies to most stick shift family sedans. Take rates too low to continue justifying them. Camry, Accord, Mazda6....all perfectly fine with a manual!

who the hell hoons a 12 year-old, four cylinder wagon?

I’m guessing the difference in cost between what they’ll spend for the ‘22 and how much they can make off the ‘21 is less than they would have spent in nation-wide advertising which is essentially what this is now.

The point is that someone other than the owner did this without permission from said owner. This was a dick move from the tech (and stupid that they didn’t know about the PDR).

I’m hoping the Subaru dealer will hoon my ‘09 Outback with a similar outcome but c’mon, who the hell hoons a 12 year-old, four cylinder wagon?

Completely agree! Nothing to write home about off the line, although it continues to add speed at higher MPH when a minivan would struggle with wind resistance. I compare to a minivan because most would beat my 944 in a drag race.

Well relative to today. The 944 was no slouch back in the day. It was a strong SCCA competitor ( ran with the hot stuff from GM - vette of course and the 3rd gen 1LE cars ) maybe not as quick as 'murican performance cars but people didn't buy them for drag racing.

I drove one of these around Iceland for a week... and I’ve been chasing that feeling since. Racing through downtown Reykjavik in a base model, manual Fiesta to make it to a toilet before my wife s*** her pants from a surprisingly  strong cup of coffee will forever be a favorite memory! Lol

Easy. 1986 Porsche 944.

The 318 is to this day the worst car I’ve ever driven. It’s not just slow, it’s absurdly slow. It’s dangerously slow. It is literally on par with the Cadillac Cimarron as worst execution of an entry level car by a high end marque. Coupled with the most painful exhaust note in the history of combustion, the seats are

They left off an important figure: what does it WEIGH? The outgoing 370z is 3400+, I’m worried this is going to be up over 3500 with the twin turbo power plant, which will be a significant downside vs the Supra. Hopefully they managed to shave some weight from the chassis and I’m wrong, because it looks great and has

RWD and sports coupe form factor, versus FWD hatchback

Relibility and better handling... and a better platform in general.

I agree with you on the power front but the GTI is FWD and a completely different animal. What this thing needs is a high-revving FA20 as the base engine and an FA20F (turbo) as the upgraded engine. That way they can satisfy the purists who want a simple and easy to use NA sports car as well as fairly quick upgraded

Ya, but the Harley brand “image” is slowly dying off. I mean how many youths today would be caught dead wearing leather vests and sporting those - sometimes that look a lot like the WW2 Nazi - helmets? Sure some few hundred thousand folks still go to Sturgis, but that’s about their entire customer/fan base.

That and causing the charge stations to be occupied by lesser people when you need it.

I went out last night, properly, then came home and watched Terminator 2: Judgment Day for the first time. Hot damn, that movie kicks ass.

Never buy a car in its first model year!
