We sold a car before moving cross country last spring before the market went totally nuts and needed a second one post move. Went with a first gen 2013 leaf as it was only up 1-2k over older prices and is basically free to drive (~$0.04mi). Will hold it until longer range electrics are more available and cheaper.

They make these things called cord protectors to fix this problem. I have one in front of my house for charging my $7k leaf as do many other people who street park in Seattle.  It is really nice paying $0.04/mile of electric instead of $4.50/gal of gas for a car that does lots of short BS trips around town.

We cross shopped everything under 50k last summer and the 2nd gen leaf wasn’t worth 3-4x the price over a used first gen. Without good fast charging it is still a city car not a trip car and the extended range only moved a handful of trips into the electric instead of our other longer range ICE car. It wasn’t worth

Our q7 specs 49PSI in 50PSI max tires on the rear axle. That car is heavy and we use it to tow so those tires are always at max pressure.  Might try to find something with a higher rating when I replace them next spring.

No hatch = no buy

Twice the price of a leaf with the same utility is no dice. I don’t need a fancy car to drive around town and get dinged in parking lots. Both will be worth pennies in a few years when longer range is affordable so might as start cheaper.

What was the net lease on this sounds like a good deal.

Cheap bastard here like the rest of you. I sold my e91 earlier this year pre market insanity to move across country and buy a cheap in town car to go with my wife’s suv. Was planning on leasing an electric until prices doubled 200/m to 400/m. We can live with one car but it is a pain. Currently between a beater Prius

I don’t want this car, but I wish I could buy a new car with a 90s controls.  DIN stereos and manual hvac controls are so much better then new integrated crap.

The problem isn’t the car, its the drivers. Here in the PNW prii seem to park in the left lane at about 5 under immediately upon entering the highway.

I wish I had more money and less sense to drop a s55 into my e91. The s52 is a little lacking in a heavy awd wagon. The e46 is a better looking car, but a bit snug for my 6'3" frame.

We just bought a lightly used Q7 with the 3.0 TDI for my wife. It is the perfect engine in this car, always available torque and 30 MPG on the highway. It will also tow 6500lbs. V8 performance with I4 fuel economy in a big SUV is the way to go. I have a 325 wagon and like the revy gas engine in the small car.
