Exactly how railed was this guy’s career by 2021, anyway? I know he had a few cameos here and there, and it’s possible his music still drew a crowd. But he’s a long way from the notoriety he had twenty years ago, and without notoriety, would he ever have had such a career to begin with?

Let’s say that he’s telling the truth and several women he used to date have all decided to make up abuse allegations against him. He’d still have to be a real piece of shit for them to do that, right? I mean, if it was one crazy ex, he could somewhat believably claim he’s a victim here, but c’mon.

Nick Papagiorgio!

Bill Murray’s insult to him backstage at SNL (which gave me my screenname) may be the most insightful thing that’s ever been said about him. He’s done some great stuff, no doubt, but his entire career has been a repeating theme of coasting on his initial SNL fame, followed by one hit, then coasting on that for a

Chevy Chase basically does some version of this interview (link below) every few years, in part as a way to wonder aloud why he isn’t getting work. He also trots out that line, “I know who I am, I like who I am” and then wonders why that doesn’t fix everything. Why isn’t Chevy Chase getting work? Because there are

I have to say that I’ve known some truly terrible people who have all said things along the lines of “I am who I am” and “it’s part of me that I don’t care” as a response to criticism of their behavior.

I have no doubt that Chase had a miserable childhood. That’s been fairly well established. But dude seriously trots this out every time someone wants to talk about his also well-established pattern of being an unmitigated asshole. Dude, you’re 78 years old and rich and famous. Get yourself some therapy. At this point,

Very mixed feelings. It’s kind of a great, zany oddball scifi flick, but it’s a terrible “Alien” movie. Though the last two or so “Aliens” are easily much worse by any rubric.

I thought that Season 1 was stronger than Season 2 overall, but Season 2 did have some really great moments.

You mean on porpoise?

They’re doing it on purpose now

A “false profit”? Really? You’re better than this.

Id also add Jeffrey Wright in French Dispatch was supremely good and I wouldn't complain if he got nominated.

Rebøøt.

What lawyer took this on anyway?

Seriously, time for Grohl and Novoselic to counter-sue for defamation and start bleeding this guy dry financially. “Oh, NOW you want to drop the suit? Too late, motherfucker!”

This whole thing was already stupid and kind of ugly, but now Elden is making insinuations about the sexual tendencies of a man who’s dead and can’t defend himself, on the (incredibly shaky) basis of a private diary entry and it’s just gone in a whole new direction of sleazy. Fuck this guy.

That’s how it starts, with a single dollar bill. But soon, that’s not enough. You can’t get it up for anything less than a twenty, then a hundred. Finally you’re so jaded that you end up getting into the real kinky stuff, like crypto.

Nah the lesson is to let the baby drown

The Kubrick research was actually handed down to Cary Joji Fukunaga four or five years ago. He has been in touch with Kubrick’s family. The miniseries (which is currently in development at HBO with Spielberg attached as a producer) was actually mentioned during the interviews for No Time to Die.
