I couldn’t finish that trailer. I know there are fans of rotoscope, but I can’t enjoy it. But, I do hope it finds financial success. If not, well, this isn’t the first time AVclub over hypes/over sells a film. It is their job, and lesser known works need a good push. But, I would love an article from here AVclub

Yeah, I’ve just watched Adum from YourMovieSucks’ review from Fantasia Fest on YouTube, and although he can be a little bit harsh in his judgements, this one really seems weirdly animated and slow-moving. He even compared it to Joel Haver’s stuff on YT - which, to be clear, is pretty awesome in that particular genre,

It’s the style of the classic Bakshi fantasy films, though, which this is clearly primarily drawing on. I love it, personally.

It seems so much like something I would enjoy with a great cast. I really do not like the animation style to the point that I immediately wished to stop the trailer. Hrm

Thank you both! Now I’ve got a Rachel Weisz film to dig into and that’s always a good thing.

I do it frequently. But redundancy is good, in most cases.

There’s Amenabar’s lovely Agora on that.

I “made peace” with it at the time. I think I was scared into submission due to a pretty harrowing incident I had flying the week immediately after 9/11 (I boarded the plane before anyone else; then another guy boarded and his seat was directly in front of mine and he happened to be a Pakistani national; then the

I love Holy Motors so much. Sign me the fuck up for this.

It’s a good one. I’m still partial to “Dolt 45.”

I think it’s kind of hilarious that Fincher, who notoriously puts actors and crew through sometimes hundreds of takes, now claims exhaustion.

The thing that I don’t get is that they would have to keep Rader on the backburner for at least another two seasons. The last season left off on a time in Rader’s life when he was about to take a 10-15 year break from killing. The show would have to jump ahead in time in a major way to get to Rader killing more and

The whole swimming off of the island felt a little hokey. And I don’t know if they quite sold me that Ellie would have been manipulated that easy to becoming an islander, especially with the amount of shit going down. Her relationship with her mother was a little strained but I felt she knew her mom had her best

I like the implication that we’d be scandalized if Obama really were bisexual. Ok...let’s assume you’re not full of shit (you’re definitely full of shit) and that a dude had sex with Obama. We’re not the ones who have a problem with what other grownass adults do with their genitals! That’s you all’s hang up!

I have a soft spot for Bananas because the San Marcos scenes were filmed in Puerto Rico, and growing up we all got a kick out of watching local actors in it, especially Jacobo Morales as Esposito and Miguel Angel Suárez as Luis. My favorite scene is when they are placing the food to go order for the militia.

Woody Allen did make good movies once, and I don’t think it’s fair to say otherwise just because he turned out to be a sack of shit. That said, the last one that was any good was Blue Jasmine, almost solely due to its cast more than anything Allen did, and this looks just execrable.

Roland Pollard. With a penchant for chatting up younger girls.

I looooved Woody Allen when (predictably) I was in high school and college and just devouring his back catalog, but the last thing I watched of his was Blue Jasmine and that was (also predictably) just terrible, like most of his work from the last couple of decades.  Nowadays someone would need to twist my arm to

Man, I’m tired. Or that trailer is tired. Something’s tired.

That would be a hell of a fakeout if it turned out he was still in a coma. That’s a Patrick Duffy in the shower-level twist if it pans out.
