You could, however, not notice any difference between 1080p and 4K if you’re sitting too far away from the screen and/or the screen size is too small

You’re dead wrong. You probably never seen a movie in 4K on a TV supporting HDR10 standard at minimum, with local dimming, decent black levels and 10 bit color support(cause yeah, you can slap “HDR” on any TV nowadays).
Off the top of my head, I can say watch the scenes in Stranger Things when Eleven goes into the…
It’s true that most people would not differentiate 4K from 1080p.
A year ago I might have agreed with some of this. Then I got a great big 4k HDR TV and I must disagree. There is a very clear difference when I watch 1080p vs 4k content. Hell, if I watch enough 4k and then watch something 1080, it’s almost distracting.
Not all 4K is created/calibrated the same. 4K on my OLED is the best quality I have ever seen, and 1080P on the same set is extremely noticeable.
spoken like someone who doesn’t actually own a 4k HDR set (or has a crappy one without the contrast to truly justify it.)
I can survive a bit longer without 4k from HBO max since almost none of HBOs actual content is distributed in 4k (which is probably a thing they are trying to cover up with this as well) but I really…
This take is ancient history. Anyone who has walked by a 4K HDR TV in the last 5 years know that there’s a huge difference.
To be honest, kinda sounds like your eyes just suck if you can’t notice the difference.
You’re like the people back a few years ago that were snotty about 60fps. B-b-but the human eye can’t see past 60fps!
Wouldn’t you know it? It’s actually, in fact, noticeable.
I disagree. It depends on the source, and how much effort a studio put into getting it into 4K. Go watch Beetlejuice in 4K, with the new scan they did. It is beautiful. Looks better than some new movies.
so he got exactly what the rest of us get at BK
Maybe calendar.google.com instead?
He’s Professor Hulk, you goons!
That was shown in the end credits of Captain Marvel. Oops - too soon?
I’ll take the spoiler snowflakes over the “ladies, melanin, and the gays scare me” set. Maybe we can have a united front against the fandom’s bigots? Ha.
Beat me to it. The core of the James Bond franchise is its Britishness. If it’s not British, it’s not Bond.
That just mean somebody else already had that particular bad idea.
I was reading through these thinking I didn’t care about his race, sex, or orientation and pretty much any James Bond would be fine with me...but American? No. Not American, French, or Australian. He/she/e must be British.
