I've just finished the tenth episode, and I think you're right. The series does start to feel a little tired. Earlier prestige dramas like The Wire were more capable of filling out a thirteen episode story arc. I think it's partly because they never seemed rushed. They weren't afraid that the audience was going to

I think there's plenty of evidence that shows just can't sustain a single story arc over 22-episodes. Take the third season of Arrow, for example. Agents of SHIELD could also benefit from more standalone stories (the best episode of this season was pretty much a short story that followed a single main character). I do

This was great. I think my favorite moment in the interview is when Casella says that he had unreciprocated crush on a girl while filming Sgt. Bilko, but he doesn't say who out of a modicum of tact. And then the moment the interviewer mentions Pamela Adlon, he blurts out "That's the girl!"

As others have pointed out, this is probably a dream sequence of some sort. But I wonder if it isn't also a vision Batman has of a possible future, perhaps given to him by Wonder Woman since she's kind of magical, I guess. I don't know. I'm still trying to figure out how this exactly fits into the film, because if

I have a sneaking suspicion that the dark and gritty approach was actually a smart idea on DC's part. Marvel has already taken a lighter approach to their superheroes, so if DC did the same, then they would look like also rans. By going darker, DC at least differentiates themselves from the competition. We'll see if

Wait, was that mention of Greedo in Episode I expunged? I watched the entire series in anticipation of the new movie, and I remember it being conspicuously absent, but I wasn't a hundred percent certain. i was drinking rather heavily in order to get through the prequels.

Among the AV Club commentary, you either die a hero, or you live long enough to become the villain.

I don't begrudge musicians who have gone in a different direction. In fact, I feel like I'm open to hearing old favorites try new things. But there comes a time when you just have to decide that this newer work just isn't for you.

You just saved me hours upon hours of my life. Thanks!

Does Arrow still suck? I enjoyed the first two seasons for what it was, but the third season was so awful I had to bail.

"somebody thought that we needed an extended run of Peter Parker being the biggest asshole on the planet who also dances."

"If that’s the case, we’d be better off watching our heroes struggling against enemies even worse than they are, instead of dabbling in philosophical debate that no one has any intention of ever taking seriously."

That's a good point about the irrationality of prejudice. I guess I always sort of compartmentalized the X-Men in the first place. Even as a kid, it honestly seemed weird whenever they were heavily involved with other superheroes. I actually think spinning them off might give writers and artists more creative freedom.

I've always felt like Marvel should spin off the X-Men into their own universe. On their own, the X-Men are a great idea and a metaphor you can do a lot with, but they don't really make a whole lot of sense in a world where there are a bunch of superheroes running around. It makes them less unique, and it makes the

Fuck people who shop on Thanksgiving.

Mystery solved.

As much of a Pavement fan as I am, I just cannot get into Stephen Malkmus's other work. Oh, well. There's too much music to listen to anyway.

That was in the 90s when women were gross and uncool. But in the 2010s women are trending again.

Not too fast. We haven't heard from Colin Hanks and Rita Wilson, yet.

"What's that? You want 50 Frankenstein movies in the next year?"
