If the Plaid is slightly faster 0-60 than my Taycan would I trade them? No.

To compete with the Taycan and (probably) the new Mercedes, Tesla is going to have to do something about their interiors. Even among the people that I know that like the giant touch screen in the middle - and it’s a deal-breaker for me ever getting a Tesla - the remainder of the interior on the Model S is sub-par for…
Hey I didn’t even say I was here for a pilates convention yet... :)
The PCM had some weird issues on delivery which has been fixed with OTA updates, and the dealer had to replace the Sirius XM antenna. Other than that, it’s been amazing. My favorite prior car was an E39 M5 and it would be too early to dethrone it but so far it’s been great.
I am sitting here at the Mirimar in Santa Barbara having just taking my first road trip in my Taycan. My advice: Taycan Cross Turismo (if you don’t want a regular Taycan). It might be the perfect road trip car as long as you can hit fast chargers.
In the US I can only think of this - plus the Audi, Merc, Volvo, and Subaru. A shame really.
I agree. I bought a Taycan earlier this year, and I am still debating whether to in fact take the tax credit. (My account says I’m an idiot if I don’t, but if I wasn’t an idiot in some respects I’d have made all sorts of different choices in life!). My view aligns with yours, in that people with more resources…
Agreed on the Stelvio. I had a Giulia Quad for a while and a Cayenne Turbo at the same time, and many times wished I had gotten the Stelvio Quad instead. Owning multiple cars can be a pain and you end up not driving all of them as much as you might wish.
A friend bought the red one that was recently on BAT. It was delivered today and they spent the whole day hooning it around. Approved!
The Taycan Cross Turismo comes out a little later this year right? I’d recommend that over the Panamera. Just get something to tide you over in the meantime if you need a daily.
LOL and/or no. I’ve paid over MSRP for exactly one car - the BMW 1M. And I made that money back when I sold it. I like the C8; I hate hoarders and resellers and I don’t reward them where possible. (Wonder how many people are sitting on 1000s of dollars in Clorox wipes and toilet paper in a warehouse hoping for…
Considering the base stripper but brand-new Macan they gave me as a loaner while doing this update has wireless CarPlay - agreed.
The Taycan does do OTA updates - my take is this was was too big or they wanted to check something at the dealer post-update.
Porsche has had my 21 Turbo S since last Wednesday. The other issue this is supposed to fix is that Sirius XM just stopped working - the button was grayed out and when pressed said “Function Not Available”.
I just bought my first electric car as part of a general revamp of my garage. It is commonly thought to be range-limited, but in reality given my 99.9% use cases it is just fine. However, like most owners of these cars I don’t have just 1 car.
As someone who pretty much only buys those cars: hard agree. Index the tax level to an MPG number that increases at the right percentage of CAFE fleet standards so it increases as those standards rise as well.
I’ve had mine for 2.5 years and it has under 8k miles. Only 2 minor issues both due to low battery charge, unless you count the fact that I went through the first set of rear tires in about 3500 miles. But I’m ready for something new - maybe a Taycan.
I have this in my 328 and it works great. Basically, I listen to music from my phone, and only open the unit sometimes when I am driving and need to change something while moving - otherwise I just keep it closed so it doesn’t cover the gauges that tell me when something expensive is about to break. A unit where the…
If you scrolled down to complain how bad BMWs look now, please enjoy a pic of my E9.
We also go the B6 - and as someone who owned the last gen M6GC and absolutely hated it due to the DCT, I wish I had gotten one of those instead. Same great look, way better doing what the car was intended to do.
