How about a Ferrari 308 or 328? Since you are in Savannah you have pretty good weather, and you can get a very nice driver under your budget.

Personally, I don’t have that level of capital, but I would like to buy a third car to keep for a while that will appreciate. I am looking at E46 M3 coupes, M2s, and 997 era 911s. Do you have any other suggestions for fun cars that might appreciate from the $30k-45k price point? (I include the M2 because of the 1M’s

Sadly I think I’m selling my bike so I’ll need to anyway.

Shoot I’ll buy it. Drive for a year, clean up, sell on BAT, profit.

This, and the VW Thing Alcapulco also on BAT right now, are two things I want for reasons I can’t explain.  At least with the Thing I could drive it on the streets (slowly).  A drop tank racer wouldn’t be of any use at all except for looking cool.

My answer would be something in the 3x8 series of Ferraris. The 328 is pretty reliable, and now old enough that it stands out as cool among modern exotics.

You could get one in orange as well.

I know it better as the Opel Lotus Omega, the car the started my interest in super sedans. Still remember reading the review in one of the magazines my dad used to get back in the day.

Here in SF I usually reliably see at least one or two examples of each high end vehicle. I work in an office building that has several examples (there were both a 488 and a 456 parked there today among other neat cars), and I get my cars detailed at a place that has other high end vehicles.

Much nicer looking than the prior ones as well.

Good reference.

I was actually in my London office during the 2016 US election and colleagues kept coming by the morning after the vote when it was clear Trump won and asking how the US could have possibly elected him. My answer was that Brexit was forever and thus stupid-er. (They all said “Well, I didn’t vote for Brexit.” And I

Brexit: Has there ever been a slower-motion version of a modern western economy shooting themselves in the foot? I’m still hopeful that they will figure out a way to effectively stay in the EEA (or just remain), but May’s red lines along with the general state of UK politics make me think they will end up with no

2 Bests:

It’s funny, but I think the Chiron interior is terribly over designed and will look very dated in 10 years.  Whatever is currently going on with LCD screens in the dash certainly won’t be the same in a decade.

When I test drove it the best engine option with the Super Cruise was a V6 I believe and GM had no intention to putting the system into the CTS-V.  In addition the car was too big for my needs and the interior fell down compared to the German competitors (but not as much as say the Corvette does to its competitors -

I feel like a good answer to the first question is a mix of Tom and ex-Jalopnik writer Doug Demuro: rent from Turo. Lots of variety and you can probably keep the vehicles for a few days.

I almost bought a nice (uncrashed) Testarossa about 6 years ago for $65k. Probably should have, but it was too wide to easily fit in my garage and the seller made it clear that if your expectation was to use it like a regular car - you know, just like, turn the key and drive it sometimes- you were likely to be
