Literally everything in Australia can kill you.

Oh I’ve driven in Australia a ton of times (mostly in NSW, but also in QLD, NWT, and WA) so I am aware of the draconian speeding laws. Normally I pick up my rental car from SYD airport and drive towards the city, then realize I am going 15-20 kph faster than the flow of traffic, then spend the rest of the trip using

Texting is a real problem in (what I assume is) Australia. Still love this motorcycle cop video.

I still feel badly about this one!

If they aren’t already planning a Westworld-style robots DLC I am going to be slightly disappointed.

I prefer the idea I had of turning my i8 into an A-wing.

My grandmother had a 64 Ford Fairline (stripper edition - but not the fun kind of stripper - not even A/C in the deep south) that she drove to Kmart and the hair salon. That’s it as far as I know. Bought brand new, and driven until she died in 1980, after which it sat for about 10 years.

My cousin has an early 80s Camaro, same deal. If he had put that money in Apple stock the same year he’d be living on an island by now.

You don’t guzzle caviar. That’s crazy talk.

Well that’s ... dull as a doorknob. (Not including fancy doorknobs, like in hotels.)

Ha! It was Atlanta. But I am familiar enough with NorVA to be amused by that.

Oh I’m sure he got money from the insurance company. But I doubt it was the whole value of a new car.

Oh yeah. This story happened in 1986-89 time frame and I can still hear her voice whining about the car being USED!

She wasn’t a “car girl”, but I had a few fairly rich people in my high school. One of them was a girl in my home room class, whose father bought her a brand new Mercedes when she turned 16 (or actually before). I think it would have been a W124 and if memory serves it was blue.

This is what I came to say. Rock on.

So no Neal Stephenson-approved Smart Wheelz (TM)? Bummer.

Pic from this weekend headed back to O’hare from Chicago. Some people have so much safety technology they don’t need helmets RIGHT NOW!*

That’s some AA grade crazy right there. Wow.

I completely agree with your first point, and it occurred to me during the park entry sequence last night that the whole door to a train thing would only actually really work in VR. (Maybe that’s one of the secrets?)
