My tastes don’t typically line up with the Oscars, but I think this might be the most “off” I’ve been in a long time. Nothing I saw this year really wowed me and what I didn’t see was because most of these movies sounded too unappealing to even bother. Maybe I’ve just out of sync with today’s movies.

I haven’t seen the movie, but based on reading the review alone it seems pretty obvious. I know it got good reviews (and now a bunch of Oscar nominations), but it sounds kinda trite.

What does it mean if you know Dane DeHaan from The Place Beyond the Pines?

Oh, definitely. I’m sure streaming hurt the box office. But if Resurrections is a sign of what would be to come with the franchise, then I think I’m out. I say this as a big fan of the original trilogy who saw each movie multiple times in the theater. I wasn’t even interested in re-watching Resurrections on Max, much

I’d say the movie being bad diluted the value of the franchise even more.

I think Paulson was an exception to this. I would honestly forget it was her under the whole get-up while watching that show.

Maybe that explains Tom Cruise.

From another article on the story...

“Goldberg might have been trying to explain her point about skin color being her frame of reference for how American racism has functioned in her life as a Black woman...”

For a while, we could be watching a 21st-century Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?...

I thought the list of people was hilarious and went on for the right amount of time. This show is so ridiculous and funny and I’m very much enjoying it. Also, I was reminded of the movie poster for Murder Party.

Wow, that show seems to have changed a lot. I never got around to watching after it got uncancelled.

Okay except the movie is better than the book.

Snow White and her prince knew each other too. He sings a song to her at the beginning of the movie. He wasn’t just a random passerby in the forest, which I think maybe people forget.

I still disagree about the crows. I don’t think they’re dated, but rather subversive. In 1941 they cast mostly Black actors for the voices and named the lead crow Jim. When almost every other character in the movie is cruel to Dumbo, they’re not. They’re not part of the circus and are probably the smartest characters

That’s disappointing, as these movies just seem to keep getting better. I didn’t think they’d ever top the skyscraper scene in Ghost Protocol, but Fallout was that tense for almost the entire movie. I guess I’ll just have to watch Fallout again (and again) to get my Cruise and Ferguson fix.

I finally watched this and enjoyed it overall. I think plenty of commenters have hit on some good criticisms. But one big criticism I had was the language. The sporadic vulgarity and expletives just seemed so out of the place with the rest of the show. It was more of a throwback kind of mystery, not really “mature

Yeah, I don’t really get what psychopath or not would even mean within the context of this show. Every character we’ve met is off in some way. There are alien body-snatchers, best friend eagles, and violence is pervasive. There’s really nothing normal about any of it.
