It’s actually a mockup of an original design. The doors were developed by a company called Jatech, and they also retrofit them onto some Lincolns. The narrator in their video implies that the retrofits have ground clearance issues (like, duh), so they designed their own car around the doors. I assume that’s why they

United also found issues with loose hardware on the door plug of multiple planes. So the problem is broader than 1 contractor hired by Alaska Airlines.

Here’s a GIF about those nutty Z1 doors:

Idiots?? Though I would agree it sucks but if you looked at the reasons WHY versus how many they sold... you’d understand.

The manual in these cars kind of sucks anyway.  Long gearing, doesn’t feel great and just not as good a performer as the DSG.

I don’t know if every iteration of the Honda Element’s interior was bad, but this one in particular was terrible. The terribly tacky and garish color coordinated plastic bits, I sat in a used one on a lot once and was like, “nope!” and bailed out of it.

HVAC, air vents, windshield wipers and gear shift seem to be pretty low hanging fruit.

Also, don’t allow your kid to spend $170 on an app in the first place.

Given the company’s financial straits, falling market cap, and declining stock price, it is unsurprising that they would restructure their business operations and cancel unsuccessful ventures.

Here’s hoping Fox and Murdoch both go down in flames.

Dude lives next to the ocean in FL (Naples). Forecasters have been going on for days about likely catastrophic storm surge from Ian. This seems like something that was completely avoidable with a bit of forethought.

I cant fathom what other vehicles a person would have that they wouldnt think “hey, lemme drive this like, 2 hours from here and grab a hotel room”

I cannot tell you how badly I want RDNA 3 to kick butt and come eat all of Nvidia’s lunch. Both of them overbooked chips before the crypto crash, and if AMD doesn’t flub this opportunity, they can sell through that inventory while Nvidia tells us to get over their terrifying prices.

Counterpoint: The PT Cruiser needed, and deserved, to die. They just replaced it w/something so bad, arguably worse in every measurable category, that people actually looked back on the PT Cruiser with fondness when presented w/the alternative.

GM and Chrysler really cleaned up on this one.

The cars can be fixed, and the drivers are uninjured.  The nostalgia you can taste was worth it.  Nice to see them running and not gathering dust.

As CR notes, there are many things that Tesla could’ve done differently to make this impossible. Those measure would include adding a seat sensor

The ship has been interned by a belligerent foreign power. Based on my understanding of The Sea, the honorable thing would be for the crew to scuttle the Ever Given rather than let it fall into enemy hands.

“Night panel” on Saabs is my single favorite interior feature of all time. I don’t know of any current vehicle that does anything like that, it’s hard to find cars that even let you turn off the infotainment screen.
