I really liked this episode, probably my favorite of the season so far(and I liked the second one a lot).
I didn't think it was bad, just not very funny.
I read The Shining at the same age as Tasha and had a similar experience. I had to stop reading it at night because I was too scared to keep reading, and then had to hide the book out of sight in order to fall asleep.
