“Then he found Diggs at the 34-yard line, and I thought Diggs was just gonna hop out of bounds to stop the clock. For a split second, I was like, “What is he doing?!”

Future “Democrat” - “Yes, she’s brilliant, created economic growth for the middle class, and poor, and improved education, access to justice, and transparency. BUT... she never stood up for the rights of polys and asexuals. She’s as bad as the Duck Dynasty candidate!”
What the fuck are you banging on about?
Why didn’t she simply walk out? Why did she blow him? This is clearly a consensual sexual encounter she later regretted. “I didn’t really want to do it, but I did anyway” is not sexual misconduct.
Dunkirk didn’t engage me about the sheer hopelessness they felt, the despair. Kenneth Branagh’s smugness and Tom Hardy’s magical plane annoyed me. The scenes on the boat with Mark Rylance were fantastic though, that was it.
If they franchise Jimmy G, they can’t resign Dion Lewis, Burkhead, Solder (who I heard is going to retire, though) or any other FA. Shefter reported today the offer from Cleveland at the draft was a 2nd and a 3rd. Nobody ever offered a 1st round pick.
Assuming it did actually come from a reader, I think THAT is the issue I have with Simmons now. When he was writing for Page 2, I loved reading his stuff; it was different than what I was used to, and I was of a certain age – high school, college – where someone writing in the same way I talked to my friends about…
Sure, but it’s oddly inconsistent with the very point that Ley JUST presented. He says Simmons is denying the reporting solely because he doesn’t believe it could be true, then provides a quote that actually provides direct evidence to back up Simmons claim that Kraft didn’t do those things. It’s an odd about face…
No he’s not. I just read it. He’s complaining that the article didn’t fully flesh out the actual arguments it presented. I didn’t see anything in there making a Trumpian style “anonymous sources are evil!” argument.
I think his old stuff still holds up. His work pre-Grantland was smart and funny. His pieces read like a conversation with a friend about sports over some drinks. It was sports writing without the wall of pretentiousness.
Eh, he’s not really saying that at all. He’s saying that it’s hard to tell if the essential aspects are accurate because the article glosses over them too quickly, without laying a proper foundation. And the reason why it had to do that was because it was making space to talk about less essential aspects. The article…
I also don’t understand the “fuck you” over Simmons reporting that he knew someone with firsthand knowledge of Bob Kraft, and that Kraft disagreed with the story. I mean, the name-droppy way that he says it is a little obnoxious, but if he had written “a source close to the owner stated that Kraft disavowed crucial…
For what it’s worth, Almost Famous is a good movie.
I guess technically, Bledsoe got benched in November of that season, when he returned from the injury healthy but was not made the starter again. It’s tough to remember now, but at the time that decision was incredibly controversial and sent the Boston sports media into collective rage-gasms.
I get that you guys can’t stand Simmons (though I’ve never fully understood why it runs so deep around here), but the following doesn’t strike me as the ravings of a frothing lunatic:
(Hates self for 2nd post defending Simmons...) It was a “Reader” who sent in that paragraph. Simmons said, “NO.”
Hopefully people read the entire article because there’s an all time simmons paragraph where he compares the people in the Patriots scandal to the characters in Almost Famous, which sounds like something you would make up if you were trying to parody a simmons article.
“People should talk about this more when they talk about Edwin Jackson”
Switch to Sugar Free Haribo gummy bears. They’re delicious...but you’ll be leaking in a different way. Sinner
Thank god there’s finally a voice that I agree with here! Wow! Fucking Americans! Are we the most sensitive bastards on the planet? He came upon a suicide and put it on YouTube?!? Do you seriously believe that this is the first time it’s ever happened? They cut off people’s heads in the Middle East and put it on their…
