I was a member well before the Helios & Matheson acquisition and price drop. Here in New York, it went from $30/month to $50/month over the course of a few years. Didn’t even think twice about it because I was seeing at least three movies a month, so I was breaking even. At peak times of the year I’d see as many as

Was there really that much complaining about the 2011 reboot though? From what I remember, reviews were positive, but the show was sunk by CN’s usual scheduling-by-ADHD (“Well start off at 8pm on Thursdays for three weeks, then four weeks on Sunday at 9, panic when the ratings tank, then burn off the remaining

Thank you!! This myth is part of what the Russians were trying to do, and we need to resist it.

Spoiler alert: you don’t have to engage in deep thought for a film to be good. It actually *can* be enjoyable just by existing.

The problem is disproportionate coverage that creates the incorrect impression that semi-autonomous vehicles—and in particular Teslas—are inherently dangerous in and of themselves.

“why no one outside of a New York City or LA votes Democrat anymore.”

Eh, I’m not too keen on promoting the concept that any part of secondary market sales deserve to go to developers. I’d feel exactly the same way if we were talking about part of the resale on a CD going back to a record company, or of a Blu-ray going back to the movie studio. You sold me a thing. You don’t own it

That suggests that their prices could be somewhat lower at Walmart and Bass Pro Shop and whatever shitty schools deVos owns.

Excuse me sir... your logic is raining on our parade.

Hint: If you see someone using the user name “Dindu Nuffin”, they are a racist piece of shit at the very least and likely a literal Nazi as well. It’s one of their fun code names for Black people, specifically Black men who are murdered by police.

You forgot three REALLY bad ones, if you ask me:

Exactly.

That last point - oh my goodness it’s so annoying. I would also like to add:

Trickle down economics don’t work, and I’m happy to hear someone who agrees. When I move to Montreal in September (or sooner) I can’t wait to be around more like minded people.

Wages have been stagnant since the 70's which should make everyone angry. I feel like this is the part people miss when complaining about fast food workers asking for higher minimum wage. The point isn’t for them to be paid the same as more skilled workers, the point is for the baseline to be raised so everyone makes

Nevertheless, not only do you need consent even from adult participants, you need informed consent. Otherwise you are denying them the chance to weigh the risks against the rewards for being part of the study. Doing it on college students is an outright insult to those students, some of whom are probably studying

As someone who works in higher-ed technology I can tell you: Pearson, or at least whatever scholars they were working with, is about to be in a WORLD of hurt. In scholarly research there are much different standards in place vs. marketing research. Very. Strict. Standards.

This “debate” isn’t happening in Gizmodo’s comments sections.

The problem is in assuming this is an argument in the first place.

Yes, because scientific knowledge is subject to a majority vote.
