It wasn’t just ‘his ride’ though. He got into a ride with a bunch of friends and they kept going after he got out. It was like a 40 min drive with the surge price included. I agree it was a ridiculous amount of money, however you have ample opportunity to opt out and wait for a taxi (for hours) rather than pay.

Hrmmm - from my perspective (admittadly small) it seems that Russia used this as an excuse to deploy their new toy.

Whatever I find laying around....

I’ve used them twice with success - second time was on a seat bolt on my truck - through the frame and rusted in place - EZ out got it out after every attempt at using the actual bolt head only suceeded in making a nice round stud. (side note - bolt extrators may work if you use them before the bolt has already turned

If you are lucky and your engine turns to the left (driver side) you can pop a breaker bar on the nut and wedge it - then crank the engine (with the plugs wires off)... instant loose nut :)

WD-40 works wonders....

What makes it real world - You can’t stop someone from changing - but that doesn’t mean you have to like the change. And that does mean sometimes people break up. I don’t find what Archie is saying invalid here - if he doesn’t like the ‘new’ Betty then the relationship isn’t going to work out. This does happen in the

Better answer - not possible as we understand physics today. I find with science (physics in particular) just saying ‘no’ is a bit of a stretch - we ‘know’ that there are gaps in our ability to understand everything - and while the likelyhood of this being possible is not high - there is always a chance we are missing

Yes I know that they had it in Diablo 2 - my sarcasm meta tags must not be working :)

Funny - and here I thought if you had a separate gameplay mode that worked offline and private party only it wouldn’t affect the ‘online’ only part.

ROFL you grandfather had a pension - which couldn’t be taken away in a lawsuit (unlike a 401k) and pays him until he passes away. Pensions in every way imaginable are 10000x better than a 401k. He also had a 50/50 shot roughly of having health insurance - by the 50’s about half of the workforce did (http://content.heal

Companies in this country make more profit now than ever before in it’s history. Productivity is at an all time high. Wages are at an all time low. There is *plenty* of room for wages to go up without triggering inflation - it’s called ‘non-historic profits’. (That means the companies would need to eat the loss).

Considering that with the cost of shipping overseas the cost increase in price tends to be 10% or less. Yes. I’ll pay an extra 3 dollars on an Iphone for it to be made safe and humane (even if that means paying ‘gasp’ American labor prices). I’d pay 5 bucks more for a manhole cover to ensure the workers have shoes.

Not sci-fi but ... Better off Ted. That show was amazing

Alright - working on learning about differentials - I get the idea of ‘backlash’ - that’s the movement towards or away from the other gear in a gear set (2 gears - because reality the teeth can move apart or closer while the machine is moving - this is called backlash) - what I don’t get is ‘preload’ and what on earth

Go figure - try a search on ‘rusted brake lines GM’ and then explain why having a batch of brake lines that rust out isn’t a saftey issue... I don’t understand it still :)

Why does anyone have to say something “bad” about Sarkeesian? You can dismiss her work or not like it (which is actually fine) - the biggest issue most have with the ‘gg’ crowd is that they don’t do that - they go out of their way to personally attack her.

“On October 22, Patricia was a Category one hurricane. By 8 a.m. EDT on October 23, 2015, it had been upgraded to a Category 5 and flagged as the strongest eastern north Pacific hurricane on record.”

A true failure should have multiple stop points - first the cable snapping - then breaks apply - first fall - at this point honestly the fire dept should arrive and advise you when it’s safe to exit. Assuming however the breaks fail - the second fall should be to the safety cable - then stop. At that point it’s a good
