Totally killed whatever interest I had.

For that kind of money, not including Knights of the Round or Dungeons and Dragons is a non-starter. It’s great that they’re getting AvP in there, but that’s about the only game I’m interested in. I think I’d rather spend the money on one of the Arcade 1 Up cabinets, like the one with Final Fight and Ghosts-n-Goblins.
No, that’s not at all what I said. I said nuance in our response and understanding intent is important. It’s still racist (because of the historical context), it’s still wrong, and I never once said it wasn’t.
I think that’s a nonproductive mindset if so. It certainly removes any chance for growth or understanding, and almost certainly removes any sort of chance for educating people.
Isn’t that something of a facile position though?
This is some more, basically definitive evidence she believes he lied.
Funny how this was the crime of the century when it was first reported, as far as people of your ilk were concerned. And now that ya boy Jussie is demonstrated to be a fraud, it’s suddenly no longer important.
Yeah, lying to police shouldn’t matter at all. Let’s just pretend that this didn’t happen. Nothing wrong with staging hate crimes.
I didn’t realize we triage our criminal proceedings.
I was drawn to the umbrella strictly for the opening/closing animation alone.
The players have the freedom to make that decision themselves in this scenario. She’s not wrong when she says it takes nothing from you. With that said, I also agree with Tyjaer that developers shouldn’t have to cater to an audience they clearly have no interest in reaching. I think all games SHOULD have different…
It's perfectly fine to disagree and absolutely true that gameplay is great and you like it. However, I've played a ton of souls games, thought I'm not great at them, but I play them for the art, atmosphere, world, and level design. For me I like the parts outside of gameplay - and that's okay for us to like different…
Exactly this. An easy mode defeats the entire gameplay design. It isn’t the same game with an easy mode. This game is designed to be earned, and it just won’t be fun without it.
You’re wrong. Games are playable by anyone who decides to buy it. Whether or not it is beatable is a different story. Most games (and I include this one) are not made in such a way that an easy mode would ruin the game in any significant way. Just because something has been some way, doesn’t mean it can’t change.…
Make sure you hand translate every article you write, please. Google translate isn’t great for literary purposes and you need to be inclusive.
Should they develop a one-handed mode? How about a mode conducive to the Xbox Adaptive Controller? A mode for the blind? It doesn’t need to have these things, but if it did it would be good. That said, development resources are finite. Should the team add a month of crunch to make each of these things happen? Should…
I suppose I ended up more ‘against’ it than I intended to be, because what I’ve seen is also a lot of complete gloss-over that software development, testing, etc. is not free nor timeless. To put it simply: difficulty modes cost you content. Well-done difficulty modes, that get you to the point where you have a solid…
I think people are just worried that “easy mode” would turn the game into Mario battle where you land 3 hits and the boss is dead. I still think “easier mode” could help, but keeping the core essence of “deflect, attack, jump, counter” intact. Essentially making newbies and casual players last a bit longer on boss…
Also people with disabilities tend to play on PC because the convenience of the platform (easy to set up different controller schemes etc.) And if you’re already on PC there is always cheat engine and probably mods in the future to make the game easier.
The core issue I see, though, is that these are a specific set of games from a company whose core selling point is that they’re ridiculously hard. And I think where the disagreement comes in is whether or not any of us think that qualifies as a core aspect of the gameplay.
