I think the number 1 issue is aim. When was the last time you ever heard of anyone having their headlights aimed or checked or anything like that. From new vehicles being aimed poorly at factory (not all of them, but it happens sometimes) to people changing wheel/tire fitments or suspension changes and not updating…

You’ll find that the Cougars with desirable trim levels have always been as popular as Mustangs to collectors, they just made fewer. Eliminators, GT-Es, and GT 390/428 and 351C cars have always been costly.
XR7-GT with the 390 was no slouch either.
