I felt the show was making a point about the difference between Adam and Kristina here. Kristina actively seeks information so she can react appropriately and control a situation. Adam is more perceptive but remains passive until prodded.
Quite the opposite. "Hi kids, welcome to history class. Basically, humans invented agriculture, the wheel, then there were a bunch of wars and revolutions, and that brings us to 1933. Now the following twelve years we'll deal with in real time…"
The context is a prohibition against publicly using the symbols of groups known to be fighting the current democratic constitution or its fundamental principles.
