The Skyler hate was nauseating
That’s what I thought as well. Lalo is a sociopath, but not a homicidal maniac. I think he may have even genuinely liked Frau Ziegler and wanted to avoid killing her. Also, I would think not trying to track down ‘die jungs’ while the polizei are looking for a murderer would be preferable to him.
I love how they made a subtle nod to Kim’s dilemma when she checked the time when she was restless early in the episode. It was 3:17 but there’s a small reflection that reads “LIE”. I swear, they never miss an opportunity to add in some nuance
In the S4 finale, Lalo tracks down Werner and briefly talks to him on the phone before Mike stops Werner from saying anymore. It’s why Gus decides Werner has to die.
I just always bask in this show delivering us the unexpected. Howard Hamlin in a boxing ring? Lalo in undercover spy mode? This stuff brings such delight.
I have to admit I was surprised by 2 things this week. One, the teasers from last week were for the first time I can remember, fairly correct in what they revealed to the viewer—-I had figured that Howard meeting Jimmy in the boxing gym meant that he found out about the scheme.
Great Eulogy, however, you left out a few things, his rich collaboration with Peter David (Hulk, Sach and Violens, etc) and that iconic Supergirl Death comic, I got him to sign it at a con with the caption I killed Supergirl! Truly one of the all time greats.
RIP, legend.
Personally, I can’t wait until scrotes like you realize they don’t have to comment on every thread of something they don’t like.
The Rymans suck. Fuck HOAs. Enjoy your tomato red house, whoever you are.
Anybody who drives an Audi.
Jimmy has a point. Who does move a cone?
They should’ve done Harlan Ellison’s Two-Face script for Batman ‘66, it’s a striking look that would’ve helped embed him more in pop culture.
Speaking of, here’s his fun raving about Neal Adams:
Damn, this is sad. Neal Adams was, to me, the comics artist to follow when I was a kid, and on into adulthood. I know that X-men has been running almost consistently since 1963, over dozens of books, but I do not exaggerate when I say that Adams’ run on the original team was the best ever. Sauron and the Living…
The Joker gets all the publicity (and all the air time and co-starring roles and spin-offs and etc. etc. etc.), but for my money, Ra’s al Ghul and Harvey “Two Face” Dent are neck-and-neck for the title of best Bat-villain. And co-creating Ra’s is virtually a footnote among Neal Adams’s career accomplishments. R.I.P.…
A huge loss. A great raconteur, a batshit writer, a glorious artist, a generous mentor. Was always fun encountering him in any context and gossiping.
I knew it was coming; I just didn’t expect it this soon in the season. His invective-heavy speech—especially his telling Hector, “It was me who put you in that chair”—was a sight to behold. We’re in for a wild ride.
It for sure has one of the best emotional payoffs I’ve ever seen in a third act.
Possibly too exhausting depending on your tastes, but having seen it, it's immensely satisfying.
I saw an advance screening of it at Alamo Drafthouse and it’s just as good as the review says, if not better. Stephanie Hsu delivers a fantastic, kaleidoscopic performance. They really commit to smart, multi-layered comedy that builds and pays off too. So much live-action comedy these days is pretty lazy and quippy.…
