@ian.nai: I remember pen and paper. It gave me a really sore neck.

@ıɐsɹop: Like I say, if they work for you, fine. I think swivellers will always exist. But they've had a decade to take off and they haven't, while the iPad is just flying out of Apple Stores. Don't think me rude if I go more from that than your classmates.

This Modal thing. Why is this better, again? Windows PCs have had maximise & alt-tab for years, they're not suddenly paradigms of usability.

Tell you what though - 'touch wants to be horizontal' doesn't actually rule out that crazy swing-down Mac idea.

@UnicornMaster: you seriously want to compute on your tabletop?

This strikes me as Gizmodo covering up the fact that this really isn't the Mac OS-turns-into-iOS transition Chen has been predicting.

@ian.g.case: Eh. Fair enough. I wanted the viewfinder, I couldn't give too hoots about changing lenses. But perhaps I'm weird.

@ian.g.case: " The only feature you're missing out on is an optical viewfinder." But isn't that the whole point of an SLR?

@icase81: I just don't get this at all. When I bought my Rebel I didn't give a monkey's about changing lenses, I just wanted to be able to look properly through the lens. Am I really in such a minority?

The one that pisses me off is Adobe Reader. How can a F***ing _PDF reader_ need to restart the system when it's updated? I guess it's cause of exploits, right? (I know, I should just switch to a less bloated PDF reader)

I love how everyone who plays Mark Zuckerberg in any film in any way portraying him is ALWAYS significantly more attractive than him.

Any word on if there's any equivalent of this planned outside the US? Is this destined for full IEEE standard status, or something less? Isn't WiMax/LTE supposed to mean none of us have home broadband to broadcast over ten blocks anyway?

I remember the first time I lived in the US in 2003. I got a Sprint phone because they needed no deposit even though I was a filthy foreigner. And there was no SIM card! I thought I was going mad.

This must have changed. I'm sure following that way used to add the person to your followers list. Does this only work if you haven't associated your Twitter account with your phone?

So that's how you get to the warp zone!

So we'll have the hoverboards nailed by then, right?

I use a google doc. All the flexibility of paper, but accessible anywhere, indestructible etc.

@dc-united: I think this is it: in the end, what matters isn't the shape as much as people respecting the damn original. Of course, now with computers this is 100% more complicated, as you've got websites, photos and all sorts of 'media' in the mix. I shoot 16:9 on my DSLR, literally throwing away pixel capacity, just

@Tonicboy: not with a hyphen, though.
