I agree with this, but when you get down to it in the comics. If you get deep into philosophy and logic of each side, Tony’s side is pretty hard on top of the moral pyramid. Tony’s side only kills on accident and cap himself nearly killed tony on purpose., its prison is how the united states has always handled war

....no, if you’re in a room, after just seeing your parents killed, when you thought they died in an accident and the only people in that room are your former friend and your parents murderer....you’re killing the person who broke your moms neck.

The thor clone was Tony’s only giant mistake in Civil War’s comics, and its still more morally sound than the fact that captain was going to willingly murder tony stark at the end of the battle.

Disobeying the accords proves that the accords can be effective and tony knew it. Even if they aren’t being sent somewhere, Tony knew that they could go on their own but if they messed up there would be consequences. The accords don’t magically make them obey every command.

Hawkeye made it pretty clear that they can just retire.

this is more than a reach. In a world of superheroes where two people are carrying a serum that can make even the smallest of men into 6'5" muscle bound geniuses....a camera is well beyond our suspension of disbelief.

Tony’s position doesn’t mean they can’t stop bad things. It means they can’t run around and go into other countries with untrained combatants.

Why would he need to sign it? Only the avengers were held to sign it.
