I'm still in active hunt of the best video player. Should VLC look better by default, perhaps it would be it, but so far I'm sticking with the excellent free GOM player, even though it has its own issues, mainly with some subtitles and not total customization...

I'm a little hesitant to use it since when I first saw it, it supported only the default Firefox theme, it's clearly not the case now, but I'd prolly have to customize it every time I switch themes...

To the first commenter: the extension you downloaded tracks your behaviour etc, it's crapware, get rid of it asap!

I prefer MP3-Info Extension, it does the very same as Audio Shell but less intrusively, ie smaller popups on hover, only one tab in properties page and also has an option to asign icons to mp3s based on their bitrate (so that one icon goes to 128 kbps mp3s and another to 192kbps etc)
You can customize it to remove only retailers that for example don't sell in your area.
