I love how suddenly a ton of people think that Steam’s friend list is some pinnacle of modern software engineering when the reality is that it fucking sucks.

I’ve tried. They bitch and moan about friends lists, or other features of steam they think are important. And i’m over here, like you, wondering what the big deal is.
I’m just here for the comments where someone tries to defend NOT installing a free client that doesn’t effect them in the least, and how I’m the idiot for not seeing “the truth”.
This may sound crazy, but if you loved everything about the older game and its playstyle... you can still play the older game with its playstyle. It will always be there. For something new, I can see why they’d want to modernize some aspects because that battle system is 20+ years old and they get to bring back…
This is pretty much the best option imo. There’s no way it would appeal to a wide audience if it was an old turn based combat style. This is a compromise that blends action-rpg with turn-based RPG and it looks absolutely amazing to me.
I mean, you could just keep playing the original. I was impressed by the combat on this.
Odyssey is a stupid word that I hate writing. It is one of the words my brain will never spell right, no matter how many times I look at it.
It’s like...machine learning makes the games that we remember playing. Those hazy memories of FF7, Doom, etc where we remember how amazing everything looked, instead of how it really was.
I detest collector’s editions. They are awful and full of tacky shit that is hardly better than corporate swag at a conference.
