From a fan perspective this is just something one will have to accept. Just like Star Wars before, where there was the movies canon and EU cannon.

I was the same. I was very ambivalent, but we are some friends who always see everything on cinema togeather. I’ve been a fan of starwars since I was litte, and I can tell you that JJ Abrams really captured the essance of the original trillogy. The movie isnt perfect, but really worth watching!

The thrawn trillogy was what got me into Star Wars EU, but the X-wing series is what made me fall in love with it.

I do, hoverver, prefer Stackpoles straight action before Allistons clandestine intrigue (Also the hyper-intelligent Ewoks where to much for me).
