This week in Sara Is The B- oh, no Sara this week. At all. Well, that sucks. And it looks like the next episode is directed by Caity Lotz, so Sara probably won’t be in that one much, either. All I can say is the episode after that one better be a full-on Sarapalooza, because I need my captain, dammit!

They finally addressed (in the typical Legends fashion) something that has always bothered me when time travel is involved in solving a crisis (yes, I’m looking at you too, Doctor!). Why do they HAVE TO leave immediately? It’s a freaking time machine. Get dressed, eat your lunch, have a schvitz, it doesn’t matter when

My favorite part was throwing in a nod to Kennedy’s real life chronic back pain with zero foreshadowing. If you know about it, great, but if you don’t, the show’s not going to bother holding your hand and is just going for the gag.

While I had so much fun - as usual - I think the episode suffered from the stakes being so high (even though plot-wise it had a very simple premise). They could have easily made this a two-parter so all the plot lines could breathe.

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat on the Kayla being Spooner’s mom theory. that’s really interesting.

Doctor Nate Heywood, PhD definitely said “nucular” on several occasions.

  • Okay, they need to stop with the Nate and Zari stuff. It’s over. Let it go.

Rory’s a writer, of course he has words. We’re just lucky, genre-wise, none of them were “turgid”.

Mick-Ava have become one of the show’s best friend relationships, on the same level as Nate-Ray, Mick-Snart, Stein-Jax, and Zari-Ava

(turning to steel won’t help you serve burgers to ravenous meat-zombies any faster).

Nate has lost his father and grandfather on the show, had his best friend leave the team, been dumped by Amaya a couple of times, then lost Zari like two different times, with Zari being replaced by another version of herself who isn’t into him, as also happened earlier with Amaya/ Charlie.

“Zano pegs (as do we)“

I thought that he was going to have a super-power that was expensive for a character to use!  Such as those that seem to make a character’s clothes shred, or something.  Good shirts aren’t usually free, after all!

I’m not surprised to see him admit that the reason he doesn’t use his powers much is because of budget. But, with all the science, magic, etc on this show it would have been easy to give him an “upgrade” where he looks normal (except maybe steel eyes or something?) when he uses his powers, and just handwave the budget

This show is...REALLY not good right now. The mommy and daddy stuff is just weird AF, the speed force motivations are unclear, Cisco has become useless in the field and his leaving plotline is pretty meh.  The whole care bear ending to the mirrorverse stuff was goofy enough- this stuff is just bad.  At one time this

Partly it’s that the Legends’s mistakes are character-driven (see my reply above about how Barry’s aren’t). Rory does a lot of stupid things, but they’re stupid in a consistent way, not just whatever suits the plot.

Yeah, Bashir proved surprisingly likeable once the mask came off. Team Flash needs at least one full-time snark to mix up the formula a bit. In hindsight I wish they’d set up Allegra as Fuerza - I think she’s supposed to be some other DC character but she really gets nothing to do.

I’m more of a B on this one. You know behind the scenes, the cast and crew reading this script were all like, “Oh God, here goes Barry again!” But the pleasant surprise in both this episode and last was that Barry realized his fuck-up on his own, fairly quickly. These are Barry Baby Steps! I hope anyway.

They directly referenced Rainbow Raider is still at large!
