You would NOT last as a Venture Bros. fan.
You would NOT last as a Venture Bros. fan.
I mean, all the tampering with people’s memories is probably not in the Geneva Convention, either.
“It was the 1700's, it was before I met you!”
When you started talking about the ex-pilot with a lot of big mistakes in his past, as well as a drinking problem, taking control of the plane, ALL I could think of was Ted Striker in Airplane.
Since it’s on a streaming platform, is there any reason why all the episodes need to have roughly the same runtime? Like, if one story would work better as just twenty minutes, while another would work better as a solid hour, or even more, then why not make the episodes that long? It’s not like they’ve gotta worry…
I’m not sure if Lex was always part of the plan for this season, but Red Kara definitely was, so a shift from the Children of Liberty to a different villain was always in the cards.
He didn’t cause Lockwood to become an alien-hating murderer, but Mercy and Otis did give him the push to don a costume and start operating on a bigger scale.
“This can’t be happening. They’re not smart enough for this to be happening.”
Most of the 40's Captain Marvel comics have actually fallen into the public domain, so if you want, you can read them online for free. I like using the website Comic Book Plus for that.
Though, since they now have a handheld device that can open breaches, that part of his powers is arguably non-essential.
A 2023 Chicken Plague wipes out chickens, and we’re told that, in Thawne’s time, “we’re out of cows”. Future of fast food ain’t looking bright.
If he was delivering this monologue directly to Nora, telling her her own secret backstory as though she didn’t already know it, that might count. But he wasn’t actually talking to Nora, but to the rest of Team Flash.
Though, in this case, they can both read the mind of comatose Grace and consult with her future self, which arguably can overrule her legal guardian.
Zari’s Argus-controlled future is 2042. Nora’s from 2049. It’s possible that Argus’s regime collapsed in the intervening 7 years.
I think what they were going for here was a mix of “secrets are bad” and “if you feel like you have to keep something a secret from the people closest to you, maybe you shouldn’t be doing it”.
Once the plot revolved around setting off bombs in three different time periods, but also “at the same time”, you just kinda had to turn off the logic centers of your brain and roll with it.
I’m assuming the Rene, in-universe, is wearing a toupee.
I liked that they referred to Connor’s Knightwatch group as “the good version of Argus”, acknowledging what Legends has established about what the 2040's are like.
That was an explicitly a version of the future where the Legends never returned to the present after getting onboard the Waverider, so clearly that timeline has long since been altered.
While it’s generally accepted that Oliver must be dead, I find it interesting that there’s been no reference to what’s become of John or Laurel in the future.
