that headline is so "The Onion" hard to believe its real.

You gotta give Ford credit for letting Prince name the Merkur XR4Ti. I think its gr8!

Probe

btw...i don't hate the big three automakers, but i do resent the shit out of them.

the big three are where they are for a reason, forcing (mostly) crap onto a public that has CHOICES. its called competition...and ford/gm have invested in big/gas guzzling/poorly engineered products while others have invested in reliable innovation. they need a bailout to stay in a game they're been outmatched in for

seating where you face each other and drive themselves? already exists, its called TRAINS!

ok, still waiting for predictible McCain/Viagra car joke here...T-minus 10, 9 ,8...

do not touch the trim!

@eurodriver: not joking...this was a deal breaker for me on my last car as well as some friends and family i know. some just prefer breathing space-classic straight lines easy to navigate. some dashs' are so in your face bold that its somewhat tacky and becomes dated after a year or so. inconspicuous, tastefully

nobody beats BMW in dashboard design in my book, none of this wrap around cockpit-deep conical gauges (infinity) cheap material junk. beautiful, easy to read, classic, simple. now- just add a couple more cup holders, jk.

people, do not underestimate Christopher Edward Bangle...

Budget rental tried to stick me with one of these last week, i thought i was climbing into a cavalier from 1990- i forced them to give me a slightly less craptastic ford fusion...that cobalt...oh man what a heap. why are these still made?

love the interior...want.

loved these since burt reynolds trashed the one in longest yard, great revenge scene-hope someone posts a youtube of it.

mid-lifers, put down the golf clubs and dust off the check book.

i meant british rock stars, not hippie burnouts.

can you open the front doors with a screw driver like most saturns? (at least mid-90's saturns)

gay for this car...its what every 60's rock star would buy right after they make it big-then take a picture with it to show people later in life when they end up broke " man, i had it all in those days!"

yeah and like 60 mpg in the tdi version...i'd buy one tomorrow if they brought em over.

reminds me a little of the Audi A2 i drove in Germany, never have i been so pissed a car wasn't available here in the states, that car was awesome. wish i could import one.
