When first moved to Charlotte NC there was an article in the paper about a group of confederate supporters who met once a month at this restaurant near me, and there was a photo of them meeting and they weren’t all white. Blew my mind. Also, that picture up top of ther article made me throw up in my mouth a bit so…

Because the police are saying that the officers identied themselves? Seems that means the prosecution will be arguing that while he feared for his safety if he had better hearing this wouldn’t have happened? Not sure how you make that statement and then press charges...

I moved to NC from NY back in 2004. I had been a member of the local Oddfellows lodge in NY and was looking for a lodge in NC and emailed one I found online. They told me the lodge had a long history “dating to prior to the war of Northern aggression”. Needless to say I turned down the invitation to visit the lodge.

Not remotely similar, the clerk in question violated a law requiring she do something. There was no discretion she could use. Prosecutors have and constantly use discretion in how to charge and try defendants, it’s how someone can be charged anywhere from murder, to manslaughter, to criminally negligent homicide.
