ITA. I have a hard time with the lack of progression in mental health medications. They have done some refinements, but not really anything totally new for a loooong time.

Well if she wasn't having fits of giggling, I'll pass on the Lyrica, lol.
My first exposure to an antipsychotic was when I was dating my-to-be husband back in the 70's and a guy at work gave him some pills and told HTB that they were great sedatives. I took one while we were out on a fishing pier, and the next thing I knew, I was in the bait-shop, slumped against a freezer, DROOLING, with…
It was! It took me about 4 days to Google it, because I thought it was a new MS symptom only to find that it was because I was D/C'ing Cymbalta. I always got them when I moved my head, but then it started happening when I moved my eyes too quickly. Thankfully, it only lasted a few weeks.
I know a lot of older people who just can't stand Lyrica's effects. I've been on many boards (totally non-health related) and someone will say that their husband just got new meds and his feet are swollen and he just feels terrible, and about 20 instant responses, "Did he just start Lyrica"?
Thanks for the info! I quit nursing years ago and I don't keep up like I should.
Pass the Lyrica, lol. (Was it a pleasant "high" or just a drugged feeling? I tried Topamax for neuropathies, and it truly deserves it's nickname, "Dope-a-max", but not in a good way, more like you're head is full of cement way.
Yeah, there's a ton of conflicting info about fibro. Since it is more predominant in women, it has become the "female hysteria" of our time. Then, of course, women don't want to be marginalized and patronized like that and made to feel that the pain they have is "all in their pretty little head" because it *is* a real…
Antipsychotics are the devil's handiwork. TONS of side effects and a feeling that makes depression seem like an upgrade in emotions. I theorize they try those on us to show us to quit whining about our incapacitating depression and be happy you don't feel like you're on an anti-psychotic. YUCK.
Please be careful with Seroquel. My Dr. ordered a really low dose to be taken at night for chronic insomnia and not only did I feel zombiefied (and I have a liver like a tank that metabolizes drugs FAST), it not only pretty much quit working on the insomnia after about 1.5 weeks, but I gained 30 really, really soft…
They prescribe a lot of SSRI's for a lot of painful maladies. Things like fibromyalgia, and nerve pains, like neuropathies. Very frequent off-label use.
No. He's old enough to finally get that some women never forget slights about their appearance (especially parts that you have naturally). I always had killer legs, and he learned to say that was his favorite part of a woman's body. Who knows what he really likes, lol.
I thought it was rather average-ish. Now I'm up to DD though. (And if I could have surgery, I would, because they just look matronly now.)
I have a 2003 BMW 525i wagon that only has about 50K miles on it, but the flimsy cup holders broke off within the first year. Dinky little things. Otherwise, I love my wagon.
+1. I'm a woman and I have seen this all my life. Many, many times if a guy is even sweet about not liking something, some women run off into the ditch with some emotional melt-down and never forget that dis.
It's been nice talking to you. You would have made a great 70's girl!
Hopefully your neighbors will learn something, lol.
I know. I have watched my old school mates go from good, fun, tolerant people, into these people who think I'm okay with *really* racists emails, mostly about the Obamas. I just ignore the email and they somehow figure that's carte blanche to continue (even though they know I abhor racism). They're determined that…
That's just it ROH, even though you would have been marginalized back then if you were different, you could literally SEE major steps within months, back in the late 60's to maybe mid 70's. Never have I seen such a social progression in such a short time even though we were far from enlightened. Actually, I see a…
In particular, the late 60's were such an upheaval from previous generational thinking. It was wonderful to watch people quit taking "the establishment" at their word and feminism was really getting a toehold in culture, sex became gloriously "free", et cetera. Personally, I enjoyed the 70's more, because I was a teen…
