Conclusion: we need more saltwater crocs like north Australia.

Island wolves may be interbreeding with coastal wolves. However as I remember it the genetic divider of the population are the Kitimat and Boundary ranges of the Coast mountains. Those ranges have pockets where there is no access between the coast and the interior. The wolves have basically become islanded.

Offshore coastal sand mining isn’t helping. Water does a much better job at sieving out the good stuff than wind - so the sand (aggregate) quality is best for construction - over say the the Sahara desert. And it’s cheaper for Singapore and other booming Asian cities to simply mine an entire island nearby. An

I work in a National Forest where it’s nothing but hunters in the campgrounds and on the trails come mid-September. I know these gun-humping Trump supporters and in their defense, *most* of these hunters are serious about conservation and following the rules. They understand the laws are in place for good reasons and

This woman, my goodness. Total bad ass. And I say that not just because she survived the croc bite, and how she survived it, but in how she has maintained this attitude of total respect and compassion for these animals throughout and after the experience. That is really what makes her a bad ass to me.

Since we know that 45 is a vindictive pos, it won’t surprise me at all if the authors of the Bioscience paper and the signatories see their funding threatened over this.

This is 100% a positive to Trump supporters. Not only do they hate science and loathe the environment they can add this to their “own the libtards” column.

Arbitrary human lines to protect our human egos and ‘stuff’ are the reason for wars and climate change. Yep, I’m a globalist. One world with fewer and fewer species making it livable is not sustainable. Human kindness and sociability keeps us tolerant of one another. This ‘wall’ is an extension of the homeless human

The Great Wall absolutely affected wildlife and plant life. Here’s a link to the abstract of a study looking at a study of the genetic variation of plants on either side of the wall. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12634804

Also though, it’s not like this croc was in the middle of a heavily populated tourist attraction like bears in Yosemite or at a camp site for example (the croc equivalent being the one in a pond at the Disney resort that ate that child, kill that fucker). This croc was in the middle of nowhere Costa Rica where they

Meh, they’ve appropriated the money for 33 miles along a 1900+ mile long boarder. Just another reason to get out and vote. If Congress gets turned over to Democrats in Nov. any further funding for the wall will be stopped in it’s tracks.

Do you feel like you look manly enough to compensate for your other manly shortcomings if you stand next to the corpse of one of these animals after you shoot them?

Sure for crocs, but for bears it’s a different story. Once a bear has killed a person they realize that 1) good food source and 2) easy to catch and kill. They are much more likely to seek out someone else to kill. Fortunately, it’s pretty rare that a bear will kill someone and need to be put down.

your friend is also a bad ass!   although, i feel a little bad for the shark. it was just doing what a shark does. but, self defense is a valid justification :)

The sheer self-control it would take to not automatically recoil when you realize something has your leg in its mouth...she is beyond impressive.

We did our honeymoon in Costa Rica several years ago. We started on the Gulf coast in an area where sea turtles nest. We noticed pretty quickly that although there were a lot of locals on the beach, no one was anywhere near the water. Apparently the area is lousy with crocs just waiting to gobble up the hapless baby

Agree.

I won’t link to any vids, but if that croc decides to spin the limb comes off in seconds.
