I honestly doubt that considering how most consumers still can't tell the difference between DVD and Bluray.

Many people already spent a ton on HD-TV's, it wouldn't hurt to have the feature available, but ultimately it would be a giant waste of money.

I'm guessing it's a mini update that just alters the save file. The Wii can't exactly rewrite the disc and as far as I know there no version updates for their games.

Sadly you could be right, but I still believe that the developers really wanted to put their heart and soul into it. This was just a poorly rushed job to make us "feel" better.
