Is it really fair to describe ‘the narrative’ as the worst part of FarCry 3 when the strength of the writing/acting (and a specific villain) is why this series even still exists?

Just awful. He was a huge talent and made everything he was in better. I’ve been re-watching Fringe lately and it wouldn’t have been the show it was without him. He was such a pro and it showed.  This is hard news.

This whole trend recently of “Hate the game, not the player” is understandable - who doesn’t love a redemption arc, after all? - and to be fair there are no winners on any side in the kind of vapid, self-aggrandizing, vicious world in which the Paris Hiltons, Courtney Stoddens, and, indeed, Donald Trumps of this Earth…

What actually bothers me more about it than it being a looter-shooter (albeit I AM bothered by that because of the history these types of games has) is that it looks like all four characters practically play the same.

Winston was always my favorite Ghostbuster - I seem to remember it was because of the cartoon but honestly I remember so little of that show that I can’t give a specific reason why - and I do have a vague memory of being disappointed he didn’t do more in the second movie.

I don’t like the idea of editing books without the author’s permission, but there is some precedent for this — in his own lifetime, Dahl revised the Oompa-Loompas from being African pygmies to more generic fantasy tribal people (perhaps still problematic but less so).
