The fact that Three Ninjas and Surf Ninjas were made just a year apart is a testament to 90s film making and audiences.

I was thinking how Supergiant sort of dodged all the incest among the Olympians in Hades. Since per Hesiod Cronus is the father of Zeus, Hera, Hestia, Poseidon, Hades, and Demeter. Not only did Zeus marry Hera and produce several children (e.g. Ares) but he also was the father of Persephone via Demeter. Since…
Wait she is his sister? Damn I thought it was zagreius’s daughter and I was trying to figure out which romance option had become canon. Still excited.
It feels exploitative and excessively safe
Side note: Why “Hades 2"? Why not name it after, you know, the game’s main character?
A sequel to one of the best ever games gets announced and this guy has nothing but complaints.
So odd this happened right after that ... I believe Chevy? ... ad campaign that prominently featured “Everywhere”. RIP.
I don’t know what it says about me but I was kind of rooting for Namor by the end. The real villain was the US/international community after resource control, of course, and I thought the film was an interesting look at how conflict played out between two nations that should have been natural allies. I thought a lot…
I’d say Boseman was a very talented actor but T’Challa was a bit generic, given the role of prince/hero we’ve seen before, and the real stars of Black Panther were always the women especially Shuri and Okoye. But I think others in that role wouldn’t have given T’Challa that underlining charm. You got why people…
Just got back from the theater. Loved it. I don’t have all that much to add. It’s probably my favorite film of the current phase. Huerta is a fucking force. I’m looking forward to the next time I see him in literally anything. Letitia Wright to a great job as an actor. I wish as a person she wasn’t an asshat.
Chadwick Boseman was a man of dignity and charisma, like Sidney Poitier and Denzel Washington. Those are gifts you’re born with, natural qualities, not things you can teach. There’s a reason he was cast to play Jackie Robinson, Thurgood Marshall, James Brown, T’Challa.
IMO I thought his introduction in Civil War was exceptional, maybe even a better performance than his subsequent film that he headlined.
Sez you.
Have you actually seen his other movies like Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom? Marshall? Get on Up? Sounds like you’re just judging him based off of MCU movies than everything else he did where he was phenomenal.
Most reviews thus far are saying how his missing presence is really noticeable. So you’re a minority on that front. Also I doubt that a guy who played Jackie Robinson, Thurgood Marshall and James Brown all to acclaim mind you, was as you put it “not a particularly talented actor”. I know everyone is entitled to their…
I just disagree. Boseman was a screen icon possessed of unusual charisma and grace, and this was widely recognized before his passing. There’s a reason Boseman is the first unsnapped face we see walking through the portal in Endgame. People aren’t just grading him up as a performer because he died young. With respect…
Audiences will delight as this panther of a movie slinks through the night! Take note, Blake Edwards, this is how you make a sequel after a star has passed. Coogler doesn’t need to resort to deleted scenes to make this kitty purr! Although the missus’ wouldn’t shut up about her confusion of Angela Basset/Shirley…
This shit gets funnier by the hour, this man in so far above his head it is ridiculous.
Marvel already has a “Brightburn” OP super character and story. Same exact story as this movie but much better writing. Basically the movie removed all the interesting, good bits and replaced something that could have been compelling with a series of see-it-from-a-mile-away transplanted horror tropes and direction…
I agree it was such a fun movie, and neat seeing the “superhero” being a bad guy, because let’s be honest it’s probably the more logical outcome of a person with super powers.
