And that is where I stopped reading.

Yeah, people don’t want their heroes deconstructed. Which explains the critical and commercial failure of Christopher Nolan’s Batman [/sarcasm]

We should just offer Snyder up as a sacrifice to Alan Moore.

“People don’t want their heroes deconstructed” unless it is done by Christopher Nolan or somebody else who knows what they are doing.

Did you read his quotes, it wasn’t his fault, he still thinks his movie was perfect. We’re all just dimwits for not getting his perfect film, so he’s going to “dumb it down” for us simpletons

My take on his other films:

See, I disagree with you. Snyder has an ego the size of the iceberg that sank the Titanic and he thinks he’s smarter than all of us, so if we don’t like his movie, we’re just too dumb to understand his genius. I thought BvS was one of the worst comic movies of the past 20 years. It was atrocious, but if you enjoyed

It's called a track record, and his is off the fucking rails bad

Ambitious is not inherently good. Unchecked ambition is as bad or worse than mediocrity.

I think the problem is that you’re confusing Snyder with an artist.

Well, he’s obviously right, as there haven’t been any deconstructed superheroes in recent time that were successful in any way, shape or form...

I doubt he’s going to worry about audience reaction. He’ll more likely throw a few terrible jokes into what he already had planned so that, if it fails, he can say “See! I made it lighter and they still complained. It’s not me, it’s them!”

At this point, and based on his previous work, I’ll be damned if he can and damned if he will.

Exactly! We like that shit, but only if it’s handled by someone that knows what the hell they’re doing. Maybe an Alan Moore, a Warren Ellis, or a Grant Morrison.

No kidding. That’s not an admission of a mistake, that’s straight up saying ‘people just didn’t get it.’ Good lord.

Not to mention that “deconstruction” implies he understood the “construction” in the first place... but it’s OK, because Snyder sees himself as the second coming of Alan Moore.

Thinking the same thing. Way to blame the victim, Snyder.
