There are drawbacks to having 16-18 year olds focusing on soccer and not school. Since most will never succeed professionally, what then? Now you have a bunch uneducated kids that have very little chance at life.

I think it is a valid question that it might not mean as much to some. This goes for both duel-nationals as well as domestic guys. Problem is, the duel-nationals are easier to point to.
Recruiting duel-nationals was a band-aid. We currently lack that level of talent at the senior level but not necessarily at the younger ages. I think in the near future, we will see some domestically developed talent emerge.
