No. As far as registration and road legality is concerned, it actually doesn’t matter whether a care is LHD or RHD (well I think the Laws in Australia are likely different, but Europe or the US won’t care).

You can an unmolested W8 for less than half the asking price from Germany (where everything is more expensive, particularly German cars!)

The question is bigger than that:
Is your car an Appliance / Utility to get from A to B, or does it mean more to you? Is it “fun”, your hobby, exciting you?

I was facing a very similar decision last year and had CX-5; X-Trail (US:Rogue); 3 Series F30 and Q50 on my shopping list.

Ended up getting the X-Trail initially as…

This is *actually* what I did... admittedly the first competition was between CX-5 and X-Trail (Rogue in the US) and the X-Trail won that. Got a Q50 as a second car 1 year into my X-Trail lease. Everybody wins. :)

This was a tourist day situation, when the Nordschleife is legally a public toll road. So unless / until Marshals arrive by car, friendly bystanders / spectators will take it on them to warn you that there’s a hazard ahead. Some will attempt it like the Gentleman…
