I really think this is a very personal issue. I love a good bike and used to live in Pacific Grove so I know the coast roads well. But for me all the leaning and feedback a bike provides can’t make up for having a helmet on my head - no wind in the hair and compromised hearing and vision ruin everything! Even the best

There are a number of fake older Ferraris out there that are so good that if two cars show up at an event with the same serial number even experts can’t tell for certain which is the original. They use real Ferrari engines poached from cheaper cars or wrecked examples, and were fabricated by skilled people using the

I love it! The interior trim in the back is just fantastic.

This is an okay price. For the money you can get an excellent example of the more reliable 84-87 S3 if you watch the market. The Jaguar you really want is a clean 95-97 X300 XJ6 - nearly as pretty, faster, decent mileage and Camry reliable. Better than any comparable German car of the era.

I switched to Jaguar from BMW/Mercedes about 15 years ago and have become a true believer! My current XJ has 142K on it, and outside of a mild appetite for coils, has never needed any non-maintence work. Its been far more reliable than any German car I have owned, and always feels special when I drive it.

Congratulations!!! I look forward to reading it!

I find your ideas intriguing and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

In cities parking is often so expensive that its actually cheaper to use Uber or Lyft to get around. That combined with the time saved not looking for parking, no worries about theft, drinking & driving, or other general car responsibilities, and it makes for a compelling case not to bother owning a car no matter

Yeah, as much as I love the camping and the very cool machines, I really think that overlanding has become more and more just a pretentious hipster scene for engineers and “stilll cool dads”.

How long ago was this? I run a small business with about 50% internet sales. USPS is by far the cheaper and faster option for shipping smaller packages. From my experience, UPS and Fedex are stupid expensive for small packages, but do become cheaper as the size and weight go up.

The Bollées were mechanical geniuses and often forgotten important pioneers in the automobile. Thanks for giving them some valentines day love!

Americans buy cars off the dealership floor. Dealers only stock cars that they think they can sell fast, which means only the options and colors that the most popular and generic. And thanks to this ordering pattern, those options will appear to be even more popular with every passing year - because dealers will push,

I worked for a midwest punk show promoter in the 80s and 90s. When I became involved in the scene, early 80s, there were a lot of the ska skinheads around, many of them straightedge. By the time I left the core of the scene, mid 90s, they were virtually gone - replaced entirely by nazis. The few who were still hanging

I was one of the locals paid to shamble about and eventually become a body!!

I have 4 sedans! 2 Jaguars that always run great and 2 Mercedes-Benzs that are annoyingly troublesome...

The problem with the H3 was the H2. If the H3 had come first we might still have Hummer as a brand. But the H2 was as tacky and cheap looking as vehicle can possibly be - just owning a Hummer became synonymous with expensive bad taste. It was a pointless exercise in pretend machismo, and it destroyed the Hummer brand.

It was once conventional wisdom that no one would buy a two seat roadster - there just wasn’t a market for them anymore! Then the Miata came along, and every carmaker scrambled to build a now must have two seat convertible. The same thing is going to happen in the truck market. The first company to modernize the

Libertarian is nothing but a friendlier name for social Darwinist, which means that on the pragmatic level of politics they are almost always in agreement with prosperity Christians. Both think the wealthy and powerful are better and more deserving than the pathetic masses by definition.

Its going to suck for everyone if we don’t change the rest of our economy to match this new reality. We simply can’t have a functioning gig economy without nationalized healthcare and possibly a minimum income system to provide some stability to peoples lives.
