It's nice to know that fiction is now being policed by people who have NO CLUE how fiction works. I may as well start inspecting jet engines.

Yes to both points and exactly why I turn off mentally anymore when someone says "This doesn't pass the Bechdel test." The Iceman Cometh doesn't pass the Bechdel test.

Yeah but Pulp Fiction was made before he hit the skids, so that wouldn't have been a reinvention for him. BUt yes, he's probably ignored fate too many times at this point.

Sizemore all the way. He was one of the most talented actors of his time. When will someone give him the Pulp Fiction treatment?

But he's no Tony Clifton

It's definitely a show I love that I don't expect anyone else to. When people say "I don't really like The Simpsons," I say "Whaaaaaaaat?" When they say "I don't really like the Wonder Years," I say, "Yeah I can see that."

The fuckin X-Files!!

I guess that's a good point. But even a bad version of a Tom Waits song is better than most everything else.

Obviously that version and not "somewhere in time and space".

Now I'm sad that I forgot.

Hell's yes Batman

Agreed on The Wire and True Detective. The Wire especially for five marvelous versions of an amazing Tom Waits song.

Breaking Bad - for being so simple and short.

Yes.

That makes sense if that's the case. It's very very different from the original series, though I still enjoy it.

Yeah that is quite bizarre, but by the time I saw it I had already seen a good deal of Miike and Hausu, so it didn't seem quite as odd as it would have to the uninitiated (not that you are such).

They certainly have their own style. Which one did you start with? I recommend Zatoichi Meets Yojimbo. It's got Mifune and it's helmed by Kihachi Okamoto, who knew a thing or two about how to make a samurai movie. In general, Okamoto's films in the series are my favorite.

When he swings his swords they all choppable.

Best possible opening for an album. Period.

Okay so now I'm getting the idea. Sorry I called you a jackass.
