Really only two reasons: performance (not an issue on a car like this), where getting an extra tenth of a percent can help with lap times... or crash safety. Which is constantly evolving.

Genuine question here: Why are entirely new car platforms needed any more? Havent we gotten suspension geometries and such sorted by now? So we have that down, doesnt need to change. Sure, you might update the struts/shocks with improved technology every few years, and springs as the weight of the vehicle changes.

This is super ironic as the entire reason that McDonalds conquered the world in the first place was when the owners of the original restaurant realized that three items (burgers, fries, and milkshakes) comprised 90% of their sales so they nixed everything else on the menu and concentrated on selling only those items

The buried lede here is that either maintenance backlog is so bad they can’t get a plumber dispatched in a timely manner or union job rules prevent tower controllers from using a plunger.
