Well, spinning off existing trim levels of existing models into separate model lines is one way to get more nameplates under the Chrysler umbrella.

Modern Audi, maybe, but not originally. They were started when August Horch was forced out of Horchata & Cie. and started up Audi as a competitor to his original company. Horch and Audi merged into Auto Union, along with DKW and Wanderer, over a decade later. Only the DKW brand was reintroduced after the war,

Well, the dealer might not have been open that long, but the customer might have come in shortly before closing and it just took longer than expected to complete the paperwork.

I had a Cadillac Fleetwood like that. 100mph felt like 60mph in the Volvo 940 I had before it. The more isolated you are from the road, the more effortless high speed feels, the less you notice it.

I’ve heard you can get herpes from riding a tractor in your bathing suit.

I don’t know about the efficiency part, I drove an Escape for work for years, and it never averaged more than 3-4 mpg better than my Lincoln Town Car. I have to think a Focus hatchback would have been better than that.

Pinto, definitely. They were both rolling garbage piles, but the Pinto was a slightly better rolling garbage pile. The Vega was pretty, but the looks were just skin deep. Possibly the first new product GM had ever completely and totally screwed up all around, since maybe the copper cooled Chevys in the '20s.

It was from that dumbass Toyota commercial.

It did outperform the Pinto, Vega, and Cricket in early IIHS crash tests. Don't know if it passed, exactly, but it held up better than the other three.

Yes, and the Pacer had very little commonality with their other cars. The Matador Coupe was another example of that - totally unique body, for a fairly low volume car. AMC was spending cash like they had it for a while there, and typically on the wrong products.

Gremlin. Although the Pinto was a bit more modern of a design, it was really flimsy in construction, even by the standards of the time. Tinny body, rattletrap interior, really bad rust proofing even by the low standards of the era. My dad bought one new, the engine threw a rod at 40,000 miles and the body already had

The 737 does have things that guys like, like the landing gear and the sleekness to the fuselage.

The Mk1 Ka has aged incredibly well. I’d call it timeless.

Well, sure. I mean, its happened many times before over the decades.

If they do, it's not from the Russians, since the planes were never even delivered. Just flown from the factory straight into dead storage in the desert.

Would that car have also been assembled by near-slave labor and sold for a 600% markup over cost?

And the Cordia

They wouldn't have totally died, I'm sure SAIC and Dongfeng would have rescued all the good parts.

It just has to pull it, nobody guaranteed anything about keeping up with traffic.

Couldnt Volkswagen have just claimed that the New New Beetle is a parody of the original car, and thus covered under fair use?
