Well, nature used to have a way, but we keep disrupting it.

OK, some some independent bottler in Massachusetts, who’s product gets sent in very small quantities to California through several intermediary wholesalers and distributors, has to arrange for every single bottle sold in California to get collected and shipped back to Massachusetts for re-use, instead of being crushed

Many of those tubs are not safe to reuse, the plastic is too soft. Repeated washing creates scratches where bacteria can grow. Some food products do clearly come in reusable containers, but you need to make sure that those are the only ones you’re reusing.

I’m not talking about excusing pollution, I’m talking about why their bottles are crushed up and ground for recycling instead of being sanitized and reused as-is. The logistics involved in collecting, sorting, and returning all those bottles from so many different sources is impractical. Coca-Cola does it in certain

Coca-Cola is also one of the largest corporations on the planet, their products are sold absolutely everywhere and are bottled all over the place. They have fleets of trucks making delivery to all their accounts several times a week. Its not as hard for them to take back bottles as it would be for, say, some

Also because of the reduction in the amount of glass packaging in favor of plastic, there probably just isn’t as big of a market for it anymore.

I mean, we are still the leading developed country, but, still, yeah. 40+ years of environmental consciousness has had a result, we’re a lot cleaner than we used to be, but always room for improvement, though.

The old Reliant engine plant at Shenstone, Princess Anne visited it once, you know?

I’m surprised CKE Restaurants hasn’t stepped into this, they both seem like ripoffs of their Extra Big-Ass Taco.

Look, I’m just saying that if the government wanted to suspend passports for people that are delinquent on back taxes, that wouldn’t be the worst thing. You’ve got money for international travel, you’ve got money to go on a payment plan with the IRS.

No, obviously, but with an actual conviction, I would be OK with it under certain circumstances.

The working class overthrowing a government originally created through a workers’ revolution (and which still holds itself out as a workers government) would be the height of irony.

Thats being pretty optimistic, I don’t see it happening. Not with their large and expanding middle class. As a general rule, people preoccupied with retirement savings, summer vacation planning, getting their kids into the best day care, and what carpet to buy for the rec room aren't interested in violent revolutions.

College? Though, barring some with delinquent taxes from leaving the country actually seems reasonable.

The design language seems like would have scaled well across the range.

That certainly would have been better.

Are Karen and Chad both unemployed, by any chance? If so, this could go on for quite a while.

Its going to have to be someone Chinese, I can’t see any European or American automakers looking to do another deal right now.

This. I agree that retro design can be polarizing, and Jaguar did need to try something new after years of dismal sales, but it seems like there should be a happy compromise. Modern, but recognizably Jaguar - the XF and XE are so anonymous looking. And Jag used to have the absolute best interiors in the industry, now

They got London Taxi, too, maybe another British automaker would be a logical compliment.
