As an Aston owner and fanboi, this breaks my heart. A car company that manufactures 3000 cars a year can not compete with mainstream, mass production automakers, nor should it try.

To be honest I don’t agree with Rawlinson or Musk. The charging cable should be front passenger side, you can still make that work fine to nose in or back in, but if/when street chargers get to be more common it means the charge port is on the sidewalk where a street charger would be.

I think part of the problem is that it can’t really be the “same vehicle” in most cases. EVs have different packaging concerns than ICE vehicles and need their own platforms. So you can have an EV that looks pretty similar and fills the same niche, but it won’t be the same like vehicles with two engine options would…
