the nurses are actively working their 12 hr shifts and there is a movement to ditch the torture shifts fro residents and allow proper sleep. Cat naps do not support good learning and decisions

Apply the end of a stick of butter to them as soon as they brown up a bit, then put em back in until it bubbles. (Only have a standard vertical slot toaster? Tough shit, I guess)
^ This is the only correct take
Or more time rolling back access to safe and legal abortion being that this is definitely one of the companies that tried their hardest to make sure Roe v. Wade was overturned...
Yet another Bigot-Chicken puff piece from The Takeout (c’mon, tell us how you really feel guys). Too bad they’re too busy coming up with the very “christian” idea of making at/near minimum wage workers work 14 hour shifts on their feet that they can’t formulate a company wide non-discrimination policy that covers…
You can still shame CFL fans... and In and Out ones.
I work long hours in an office (10 - 12 hours a day, and paid OT), and that’s still tiring. And I’d take it any day over working a mere 4 hour shift at Starbucks like I did years ago.
“Prime beef is what we typically eat in nice restaurants or at fancy hotels.” Hahaha....um, no. Prime beef is rare even in high end steak houses, and difficult to find routinely. Restaurants may say “Prime” on the menu, but it has a good chance of not being true. The vast majority of “nice” restaurants {Sullivan’s,…
“...and Lindsey’s location is set to bring in $17 million by the end of the year”
I eas an RN who did 3x12h for 20 years and LOVED IT.
13-14 hour shift

Can and should are different things. I don’t know any nurse that’s happy they are overworked and underpaid.
First thought was “Yeah, they then won’t have to provide health insurance since they would be under 30 hours” but damn, a 13-14 hour shift? You can see how some states are more protective of workers than others. CFL saw no cost difference in FL because OT doesn’t kick in until 40 hours are worked. In CA OT kicks in…
I think they call it France... a country so strict they actually have laws to punish companies trying to push beyond.
Very true and odd are if you go to a hospital you will be. The resident seeing you is probably on hour 23 of his 4th 24hr shift that week.
“Can be done” is not the same as “reasonable” or “humane”. Also, I’m not sure I want to be treated by a healthcare worker in the tail end of a 3rd 12-hour day.
Right? Most places I know of (including my own workplace) do four 10-hour days in that situation.
Screw Chick-fil-A, I want to work for this mythical company:
Remember the scene in Mad Men when Don listens to “Tomorrow Never Knows” for a minute before unceremoniously turning off the record player, symbolizing his inability to grasp a changing culture and, moreover, his unwillingness to engage with it? It appears that McDonald’s collabs are doing that for older Millennials…
