Now that is a nice example of a 78 Z.

Bad as....

To me the only thing that makes this era Z28 approachable is originality. They will never be fast and doing a bunch of hokey bullshit as this owner has does not make them any faster...it just makes them the butt of all jokes in the mullet playbook.

Actually you don’t know what you are talking about. Injecting presentism into the conversation does not impress. The 1977 through 198o Z28 was a proper road car in its day. It handled very well, had all the good suspension bits, automatics had 3.42 gears while all 4 speeds came with 3.73. The engines were exactly what

I had a 77 Z28 and my girlfriend at the time had a 76 Sport Coupe. The difference in handling was huge to say the least. Her’s was a understeering turd of a car. The Z28 was quite respectable in its day.

I tried finding a 78-80 Z28 that hadn’t been rednecked all to hell and simply gave up. Redneck mod no.1 remove the A/C unit...as if these things were ever fast. The only thing I see this car is missing is the requisite Yosemite Sam “Back Off” mud flaps and a chain steering wheel...maybe some floormats with flames on

Old comment I know, but you never drove one of these did you? Faster in 1981 than:

Change the article to “GM is dead” after the news they have abandoned Australia.

You TOTALLY LOST ME at;

GM playbook circa 1980's

Yeah...well...I yawned so hard my jaw kinda cramped.

They didn’t have the guts to bring the Supra back either.

Just when I thoight no one could.outshine the Pontiac Aztec for sheer ugliness Musk says...”hold my beer”.

It is the modern day equivilent of the GM Holden rebadged Pontiac GTO.

It is more uglierest.

Lost me at 550mph.

And they could take their shoes off when attempting to count.

After owning 2 Ram Hemi trucks I switched to the Silverado. Both of my Ram’s were good trucks and I have no complaints, the Chevy however is in a totally different class in every category I could mention. Chevy has no issue with their product, their politics will likely hurt them moving forward more than Dodge.

Eh, horsepower does not excite me, torque does. Most people opting to purchase one of these is more inclined to look at towing capacity first with MPG being a novel sidebar. I would never purchase a Ecoboost to pull my boat/trailer at 8500lbs...but I would buy one if I wanted to drag race a truck fer sure.

Silly comments. Mazda has been a different company since the got Ford out of their lineup. Having wned 2 CX5GT-AWD’s and now a CX9GT-AWD I can tell you the NA cars were just as fun to drive being less weight. And yes, I cross shopped Honda and Toyota and BMW.
