most vehicles avoid the NX200's awkward proportions by pushing the front wheels as far forward as possible. less front overhang = easier to meet the 28-degree parameter

The widow of the man who died after being struck by the South Dakota attorney general’s car will file a wrongful death lawsuit, her attorneys said Friday.

Yes, leaving the scene knowingly makes it FAR worse.I’d put it at the highest level of manslaughter at least.

The face-through-the-windshield part is an angle I don’t remember hearing about when it was first reported.

Also - he didn’t just kill someone, realize OMG what just happened, let’s call for help ASAP.

Actually, you’ve crossed the line which makes proving drunk driving and manslaughter far more difficult. And Ravnsborg knew it.

I hope everyone who’s upset with this situation is just as uncomfortable with the police who aren’t charged in the killing of unarmed black men, because in the end they’re being treated the same for the same reason.

Pretty sure Vegas wouldn’t take a bet on whether or not a county sheriff helped cover for the State Attorney General who was in his county attending a political fundraising dinner and who happens to be in the same political party as the sheriff.

I would be utterly shocked if a county sheriff in SD covered for a wealthy white Republican who happened to be the state AG.
Shocked. Like, mildly unsurprised sort of shock.

I once hit something at night. Similar damage to this case. Pulled over, called the police. Officer showed up and examined the damage closely as well as driving past the collision area with his spotlight a few times.

White privilege in full fucking effect here. Fuck this guy.

Boever’s was carrying a flashlight that was still on the next morning. The detectives took that same flashlight back on another night and laid it as they found it after the accident, and said that it would have been very difficult to miss in the dark before or after the collision.

I’d argue hitting someone while drunk is manslaughter but once you drive away and leave them to bleed out rather than calling an ambulance I think you may have crossed the line into murder... Actually I’m not a lawyer so I have no idea if it’s legally murder.

That second clip... brutal. That was absolutely brutal to listen to.

I have no doubt that he went home to sober up. He knew he was looking at hard time if he stayed at the scene and failed a sobriety test. The prosecutor gave him a friends and family deal on the charges, based on the increasingly absurd claim that he thought it was a deer.

#1, Nobody hits an object in the road and doesn’t stop. If you hit ANYTHING, an animal, a random piece of debris, etc. You stop the car, at least enough to check the car. I once hit a piece of tire on the interstate, I pulled the fuck over to check the bumper and lights. If it’s big enough to smash your windshield and

Yeah, this shit is utterly ridiculous. How is he not being charged with Vehicular Manslaughter?

Since criminal charges went nowhere, I hope he is slapped with a civil suit that completely ruins him.

Sticking with Wagons, Saab 9-5 Aero Sportcombi or Saab 9-3 AeroX Sportcombi (Turbo-X like below if you can find one)

I think the idea that it’s somehow worse to do this during the coronavirus is quite wrong—yes, a crash will pull resources away from the virus, but a crash during “normal” times could very well kill a family or other innocent roadgoers. Minimizing the risk of that kind of incident seems to at least balance the
