Domestic cats kill upwards of 4 billion birds a year, it’s really no surprise that birds will strike back at some point.

I’m always amazed that any salmon survive the journey to their spawning grounds. It’s like gathering everyone you know to go run through a minefield, knowing that only 1/6 of you will survive but the survivors will have enough babies to replenish population.

My late cat was an indoor cat who liked to pose as an outdoor cat when the weather was nice. I was always out with him, but my biggest fear would be that some horribly large bird of prey would swoop out of nowhere and carry off my poor little baster. Alas, it was cancer that did him in, not a raptor.
