Why should online be any different than IRL?

Yeah I’m a little perplexed as to how it wasnt already the norm.

Well, you know, if you’re a woman and you don’t want to be harassed, just don’t go online. Or outside. Or really do anything.

What do you mean, “becoming?” It’s been an established norm since online has been a thing.

“Becoming”? The women in my life all tell me it’s been the norm for as long as there’s been an Internet on which to be harassed.

if Hillary acted like Bernie, with the finger raised and pulling faces while she’s in the middle of a sentence, she’d be booed off the stage.

I feel like the outspoken, vitriolic racism took a major upswing when Obama won the primary in 2008 and it never really went away. My serious concern is that if Hilary gets the nomination, the country’s dormant sexism is going to erupt in much the same way, and if she dares to win, we’ll have to endure 8 years of it

I just...WHY? It isn’t even funny. I fucking hate humans sometimes.

Donald Trump is “very sad” that our president did not attend Justice Scalia’s funeral. He’s not just sad, he’s “very sad” about it. Only, he doesn’t seem “very sad.” He seems almost giddy. He employed an exclamation point. I don’t usually associate statements of grief or sadness with exclamation points. It’s almost

Caitlyn Jenner is an asshole, just as Bruce Jenner was. She changed her outside only. I have no idea why she gets a pass on her awfulness.

Exactly. I have nothing but contempt for any trans woman who still considers herself a conservative Republican. Especially since that necessarily means she supports their anti-LGBT agenda. Yes, she’s shielded by her wealth more than 99.9% of other trans people, but what if conservative-supported laws pass requiring

Exactly this.

Thank God for Jezebel—the one part of Gawker media that will print an article that defends Hillary and (even better) attacks MoDo. She’s the original Bernie bro, and she knows that she can ride their hostility to relevancy for at least a few more months.

Bernie has a clear, concise “we” message, even if it’s pie-in-the-sky: The game is rigged and we have to take the country back from the privileged few and make it work for everyone.

MoDo is still angry at Hillary for not leaving Bill after he *humiliated* her. She (allegedly) betrayed the sisterhood and set a horrible example for all those other women (and cheating men). I felt back then and feel even more strongly now that going along with the narrative that Bill, or any other cheater that gets

Please explain to me why, in Dowd’s terms, Bill Clinton’s wife, daughter and female subordinates were humiliated by his actions? Why are they morally responsible for it? That’s a whole lot of tongue clicking on why a woman can’t keep her man in line.

This argument really rubs me the wrong way for a few reasons. First, IIRC, Hillary Clinton had very little to say publicly about her husband’s affair, and was blamed and humiliated for it. And second, Monica Lewinsky and the three Clinton accusers were treated horribly and dismissed as liars by the media and the

The trying to score points against Hillary because her husband cheated on her is really the lowest of the low. You know Maureen Dowd is one of those women with no women friends.

Maureen Dowd occupies one of the most prominent pieces of media real estate and she’s been squandering it for years. What a loser.
